1) Who do you think succeeded Pentangelli? In 1958, Joey Zasa would've been too young, he would've probably still been a young punk coming up somewhere in Pentangelli's regime--Maybe an associate or soldier at best. Willi Cicci was likely put in jail for several years after the case against Michael collapsed. So I wonder what exactly became of it between 1958 and whenever Joey Zasa was put in charge of it. That'd make for an interesting story. That's a $64k question, Joe. We have to assume that Michael would not have given up his grip on NY after thinking Pentangeli was killed. He'd have to put someone in behind Frankie to keep the vultures away. But who???? Dunno. He may also have wanted to distance himself even farther from NY after he was subpoenaed by the Senate subcommittee. Cicci would never have been let back in. Once a traitor... Michael probably moved back to NY after he "sold the casinos," per his Knighthood. When??? Genco apparently was still operating in '79, and may have been Zasa's "legitimate" front. Michael said that Zasa "now runs the olive oil business." He probably meant "all my former NY rackets, but that probably included Genco as a front. I would love if someone wrote a sequel wherein Cicci bought redemption (by proving his loyalty) from the Corleones after getting out of jail and took Pentangelli's place, since Cicci was originally going to be in Joey Zasa's place before Joe Spinell died. In the original GFIII scipt, Willi is running the Corleone Family in New York. 2) Is there any inkling about WHEN and WHY Michael moved back to New York? 3) Why did Genco Olive Oil fall into seeming dissolution by 1979? He probably meant "all my former NY rackets, but that probably included Genco as a front. This is what Michael said: "Vincent. Mr. Joe Zasa now owns what used to be the Corleone family business, in New York." And in the scene when Marry meets up with Vincent in Little Italy they look at the old Genco office, which was clearly desolated. Also, Genco Olive Oil was a family business. But at the time of Part III, Dominic Abbandando (probably Genco's grandson) is working directly for Michael as his press secretary.
"It was between the brothers Kay -- I had nothing to do with it."

It is possible that the old headquarters was abandoned and a newer headquarters was opened up.
