Disclaimer: I donated a bunch of Tampa mob stuff to the museum which they have on display, and plan on doing some presentations with the museum.

That being said, a 100% WOW for this place. The museum is located about two blocks from Fremont street at the old federal courthouse. They renovated the building, and turned the inside into the museum. It's three stories, each one with a number of both static and interactive exhibits. They have audio tapes of Civella wiretaps, loads of information on the mob in Vegas, and a some interesting short films showing throughout the museum. The Kefauver movie, in the courtroom where the hearings were held, was really well done.

On the look- They really put in all the millions they said. The place has a clean, sharp feel to the both the exhibit designs and the structure of the rooms.

On the facts- I noticed a few minor quibbles, and not every city has been covered...yet, but I guarantee that everyone here would love it. You won't learn anything that hasn't been discussed on here or Real Deal, but you'll see some very cool and interesting items, photos, ephemera (there's that word again), and photos.

How long did it take to go through it all, Scott?

Nice review, Scott.
I may be wrong, but you seem to be the first of the posters in here who have visited the museum. I have no plans to visit the place myself but it sounds interesting.
You mentioned a "few minor quibbles" during your visit. What were they?
And also, I would imagine there are a few fact errors on display. Did you noticed any worth mentioning?

About 2 hours. I could have spent about another half to sit through some of the movies.

Real small. For instance, they spelled Raul Jerez (Miami Cuban gangster) name as 'Paul'. And a couple small items in terms of guys' position in the mob.

But again super minor quibbles. They are in the process of fine tuning (it's only been open a couple weeks), so these will be addressed.

I see. Good to know.
So no references to Anastasia being the "Murder Inc" boss or stories of 60-100 slain Mustache Petes the day Maranzano was murdered?

Sounds good Scott. Last time I was in Vegas was 2010, so missed out on this one. But hey, yet another reason to go back grin.
