New CGI flick reuniting the surviving Pythons (well, hopefully Eric Idle too; there's apparently bad blood there, go figure) is confirmed. Hopefully will not suck. wink

I actually like a lot of Jones' stuff, it'll be interesting to see how they work this.

MONTY PYTHON Troupe to Reunite For Upcoming Film ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING

Thursday, January 26, 2012; Posted: 01:01 PM - by BWW News Desk

Director Terry Jones has confirmed to Variety that the surviving members of Monty Python will be reuniting in a new film called ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING. Jones will direct the sci-fi movie whose cast will include Monty Python alum John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin as well as comedian Robin Williams. Python member Eric Idle is still in talks to join the project.

ConfirmEd Jones, "It's not a Monty Python picture, but it certainly has that sensibility."

The movie will be made using CGI technology with the actors lending their voices to aliens who endow a group of humans with super powers, leading to misadventures. Robin Williams will voice an intelligent speaking dog named Dennis.

Mike Medavoy will serve as producer of the film which is based on a 20-year-old script by Terry Jones and Gavin Scott. The producer commented, "Terry and Gavin have crafted a classic farce - something I feel I know a little bit about after all the Pink Panther pictures we did with Blake Edwards at United Artists."

The last time the members of the Monty Python comedy crew worked together was at the Aspen Comedy Festival back in 1988.

Where's Graham Chapman? Is his corpse holding out for more money?

grin Considering its over 20 years old at this point, I hope not.

And nothing for nothing but...damn, I wish it was Gilliam helming. But hey, Ill give Jones a chance, hopefully it wont be botched.
