That’s his wife “Nikki North”. Philip belonged to the Chicago Outfit & was a made man. Philip & his brother Ron both met their fate in 1962 killed by local Irish thugs Billy McCarthy & Jimmy Miraglia in Elmwood Park…Soon after the two thugs were infamously made an example out of & were tortured to death… If you saw Casino there’s a scene in there based on Billy’s death were they put his head in a vice & his eye pops out before killing him.

Thanks Moe! Been gone a while. Nice to be back here. Reddit sux, people over there don’t know much just quotes from Goodfellas or Sopranos.

All the pics of Ducks during his trial make him look grandfatherly until you listen to the Jaguar tapes. He has thst dead eye look and pretty intimidating when he was young.

A few months ago, longtime foes Don King and Mike Tyson had dinner in Miami.

The man sitting between them is Alvin Malnik, a man who at one point was considered to be so close to Meyer Lansky that the FBI believed that dealing with Malnik was the same as dealing with Lansky. That controversial claim was later backed by mob associate turned government witness Vincent Teresa in open court.

Malnik, an attorney who throughout the years had denied ever knowing Meyer Lansky has only in recent years admitted that he had indeed been very close to the legendary mob tycoon. Although he maintains that the two were only friends.

Malnik made millions by owning and selling the rights to Scopitone, a video-jukebox company that swept Europe in the 1960s. The SEC believed it was a mob front after discovering that Vincent "Jimmy Blue Eyes" Alo and Jerry Catena owned shares in the company. Alo, who was particularly close to Malnik and was often seen in his company, was convicted of obstruction of justice in the Scopitone case after he refused to answer questions regarding his dealings with Malnik.

To this day, Alvin Malnik has never been convicted of a crime. Unlike his late friend Lansky, who seemingly died broke, Alvin Malnik is believed to be one of the wealthiest people in the United States.

Probably involved in the tail end of LCN influence over boxing.

Good to see Tyson let bygones be bygones for his own sanity probably……He threw a water bottle at him not too long ago but quickly called to apologized…Believe Don acknowledged he knows Mike is a good guy.

“Lansky, who seemingly died broke….” I guess it comes down to who you believe. Lacey said he died basically broke. Messick said he hid his cash with others….including Malnik. Lansky’s daughter claims his brother Jake ended up with all the money.

I fall on the side that money was never an issue. While I believe the $300 million was a gross exaggeration, I doubt that a man of his intelligence, savvy and long-time power in the Underworld died broke….probably living his final years similar to peers like Costello

I can tell you what I know. I was close to the Jake Lansky side of the family in fact I spent time with Jake . His wife Anna and was very close with their grandson David S. ( now deceased) I knew his cousins who were Meyers grandkids but plead the fifth there as one of them is trying to put himself out there on social media as a mob expert and he is quite ignorant of the life.
Meyer lived in North Miami Beach and Jake lived in Hallandale. They owned respective residences but in my opinion Jake and Anna were better off. That 300 million dollar story is bullshit perpetuated by unchecked media and lying cops ( prosecutors are cops to me)
Meyer lost a great deal of money in Cuba and people forget that what money he did make even though he was Meyer he still got taxed by the Genovese. They were close friends with Jimmy Ali but business is business.

I hadn't seen that one before. Him, Lansky, and Costello from N.Y. and Joe Batters and the Waiter all got to die free men.

I agree, I dont think they will ever admit it but id put money on it Lombardo played an influence on that characters appearance… During writing & production for the movie Lombardo was a hot topic due to the family secrets trial

So when did Lansky start having to pay?

I can't imagine he was paying under Lucky, is it safe to believe once Costello flees and Genovese takes over that Lansky started to have to pay?

I don’t believe that Lansky was ever taxed. He had partners, coordinated investors, etc. and handled the “payouts”. He was a peer, never an underling, until the day he died.

I agree on Lasky never being taxed. He was in with the bosses from the beginning, and was partners with many. He was long time friends with too many people and was more powerful than most members, and as powerful as any boss.
