You know, I was watching GF 3 the other night. It occured to me that in GF 1, Neri had no dialogue. If you have a dvd or vcr, check it out. Then in GF2 he has quite a bit to say, and even more in GF3. Was there anyone else who started out with nothing to say, and then as the saga continued, said more and more? I think even Anthony said something in GF1, in the scene where Vito dies. (Anyone who was in all 3 films, anyway. There were only a handful of individuals who were in all 3 films).

Sofia Coppola appeared as the baby in the baptism scene in GF I and had no dialogue (though she made some noise). She also appears briefly in GF II on the deck of the boat passing the statue of liberty. Again no dialogue. In GFIII she has a lot of what passes for dialogue.

Well, mama has very little to say in GF. We hear her voice only in the opening wedding scene and then later when she tells Sonny not to interfere with Connnie & Carlo.

She gets a bit more dialogue in the 'current' GFII segments, between the little bits at the Communion party and then her later conversation in Italian with Michael (the one in which she has not a clue as to what he's referring.

Yeah, Rocco has no dialogue in Part I and I'm not sure Willie Cicci has any dialogue in Part I either.

He has one line near the end, when he says, "Sal, Tom, the boss says for you to go ahead and he'll follow...."

Didn't Rocco say something like , "Yes sir." to Clemenza when instructed to "leave the gun, take the canoli"? Perhaps I'm just imagining it, but I can swear I can hear his voice in my head from Part I.

No, I don't think Rocco said anything after he shot Paulie.

Rocco says nothing after shooting Paulie. Just takes orders from Clemenza ('Leave the gun. Take the cannolis.')

Where he might possibly say 'yes sir' is when he is first instructed by Clemenza on when/how to do away with Paulie. I believe this is while still at Clemenza's house and I also think it might be a deleted scene.

Exgirl, Neri has a lot to say in one of the best deleted scenes from II--where he ejects Klingman from his hotel. It's the only scene in which Neri's the center of attention, and in which he really asserts himself. Too bad it was deleted.

Yes, that's my favorite scene. I have the dvd set with a separate disc of the deleted scenes. I watch it over and over. I think Connie should've married Neri in GF 3. They could both grow old, cold and sadistic together.

At one point, I scrutinized the GFII script to see if there were any subliminal clues to whether Rocco could perhaps be involved in the Tahoe assassination plot, and if you notice, following the night of the assassination attempt, Rocco has no dialogue for at least and hour and half, when he then appears in Mike's hotel room, where he has one non-important line, and then we don't see him again until he takes on his suicide mission. All in all, Rocco is barely in GFII.

The people who are in all 3 GF's are Mike, Kay, Neri, Tommasino, Mary Corleone, Connie, and a seventh that I dont recall at the moment, but I know for a fact that 7 people were in all 3, albiet some having minor roles. Possibly Altobello??

Mary Corleone wasn't in all 3 movies, only Sophia Copolla, the actress who played her in Part III.

Thats what I meant, notice I didnt name the actors in my post. She (Mary aka Sophia) was the babtized baby in 1, a girl on the immigrant boat in 2, and of course Mike's daughter in 3.

Fair enough. I think it then needs to be established which criteria we're using for naming who appeared in all 3 movies. If we're only naming the characters, then Mary wouldn't belong, for reasons I already stated. If we're discussing which actors/actresses appeared in all 3, then Tommasino doesn't belong on your list, since the same actor doesn't portray him in all 3 movies.
