Hello, guys
First of all, I´d like to say hello to everybody in this forum, as Im just coming in. Hope I get to contribute to the discussions and learn from your ideas and perspectives as well.

My question is: Whats your favorite Documentary?
I´ve been watching some great ones and thought I might share with you my thoughts on my favorite ones so far and know of any others that I yet haven´t seen.
Its no news to anybody that the National Geographic Chanel puts on some great documentaries. They have a Mob related documentary series called "Inside the Mafia" and its a great piece.
Another DVD set worth buying is ''Crime Inc - True Story of the Mafia''. Its much richer in its footage content and interviews and offers a very unique look at the history of organized crime. I´d say this one has been my top documentary regarding the subject.
How about you guys?

Well does it have to be crime related? If not then my favorite is either Exit Through the Gift Shop or Bowling for Columbine.

I enjoy documentaries and have seen many, but not much in the crime area.

I did enjoy the documentary about the real Henry Hill whose story the movie Goodfellas is based on. Very good film.

Crime Inc is great, also those launched by National Geo. Except for the acting there, it was horrible.

There were heaps. Some that came to mind is "Touching the Void", "Bowling for Columbine" and "1421: The Year China Discovered America".

You´re right. Gotta give them credit for trying their best to illustrate the spoken content, but some of the acting in those were hideous. I even spotted some DeNiro mannerisms in some of those actors, wich almost turned everything into a paradoy, hah.
And yeah, I meant Crime/Mob related documentaries. smile

My two favorite documentaries are "Woodstock" and "Don't Look Back" (a film about Bob Dylan). Great music and insights into some of the best of the best.

'War Against the Mafia', Philly Mob (Nat Geo), Chicago Outfit (Nat Geo), Valentine's Day Massacre (Nat Geo).

Basically all of the Nat Geo documentaries and episodes of 'Mobsters' on Bio are great imo.
