I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on two murders committed by Gravano in 1983 that have barely been mentioned on the internet and not at all in the book Underboss. There are constant mentions of the Castellano hit and others like Robert DiBernardo, Louie Milito and Louie DiBono but virtually nothing about John Santiago and Jackie(Calabro?). There is a little about the latter in Michael DiLeonardos testimony but that is about it. As they took place in 1983 they would have been done either at the behest or approval of Paul Castellano. Anyone got any ideas?

I'm not sure about those hits in 1983. I know about the biker he killed in 78, John Simone in 1980, Frank Fiala in 82, Nicky Scibetta in 78.

Is Calabro the cop that was killed? I think they were going to charge Gravano with that murder a few years ago, but didnt. Calabro was a crooked cop, and was supposedly mixed up with the DeMeo crew.

I found the guy, his name was Frank Stillitano. Johnny keys was killed in Staten Island. But Simone was from Trenton. I always thought Simone was from South Philly.

The article also said the Gambino's had someone in Trenton in the 70's, named Nicky Russo. Always thought Trenton was Bruno territory only. It's not a very big city.

As for Peter Calabro - It could have been Gravano, but as someone said, he (Calabro) was bunging Roy DeMeo info on people, perhaps Roy had had enough of the guy?

That calabro accusation against gravano was made by notorious attention seeker richard kuklinski who also admitted to killing jimmy hoffa and carmine galante.. and it wasn't brought to trial cause it was all BS ..the prosecutor was up for re election and got his name all over the papers.. and that's what he wanted !!

NYPD joe coffey said gravano only admitted to 19 murders..but he probably did 29,39 or 49 !!
