STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Long before Vito Corleone arrived on Emerson Hill to make offers no one could refuse, Joseph and Marie Palma moved their 11 children into a brand new, eight-bedroom house on Longfellow Avenue.

Exactly when that move took place was a matter of debate yesterday, as Realtor Connie Profaci showed some of the Palma grandchildren, including me, and great-grandchildren around the spacious home where "The Godfather," arguably the greatest movie in American cinema, was filmed 40 years ago. The house, which the Palmas sold in 1951 to the Norton family, is on the market now, with an asking price of $2.2 million....

About four years ago someone posted a whole series of photos of this house and grounds. It would be neat if someone could find that thread and bump it.

I remember that - if memory serves right, it looked a lot like the same from the movie.
