For some reason these don't load for me. Anyone know any other way I can view them?

Makes you think. Makes you think about the people in your life. And when I think, I think of Neil. If he were here now what would he say? He would say "John what's it about? What's life about... if you dont go through it as a man's man?". He'd say "Suck it up, take the fall do the time. That made you what you are. That makes you what you are. How long have we been around this thing of ours? This Cosa Nostra? 120 years. What's it about? It's about the rules, perimeters. You take the beating for a friend, you don't run, you don't lay down, you don't betray who you are. What you are.

If correct, thanks for the info, Torrie.

It´s hard finding any solid info on Tuzzo. Do you know anything about him? For example, did he live in Fort Lee, NJ? Any blood relation with Charles (Chuckie)?

Welcome to the boards!

Now I just checked and could it be possible there are 2 Anthony or Tony " Dutchie" Tuzzo. The one I was referring to was referenced in the book "The Five Families" pg 579?

Two Tony "Dutchie" Tuzzo members of the NY Mafia, you mean? I don´t think so. I don´t think I have ever come across two mobsters sharing the same first and last name also sharing the same nick name. And I have been researching these guys for a long time. The Anthony Tuzzo, who passed away in 2000 and listed in the Social Security Death Index, apparently lived at some point in Fort Lee, NJ. If we are able to find out that "our" Anthony Tuzzo, the Genovese captain, lived in Fort Lee, NJ then we would know for sure his year of death. The Anthony Tuzzo listed in the SSDI was born in 1912 which coincides with what we do know about "our" Tony Tuzzo.

Well the one I know of is referred as Anthony "dutchie" Tuzzo is from Brooklyn, born in 1912 died around 1974? Yes and was also in the Genovese Crime Family. Read page 579 The Five Families. Now the only thing that is possible is the difference is Anthony or Tony.

Yes I have read that page. But nowhere on that page says Tuzzo died in 1974. Would be interesting to know, where did you come across info saying that?

Because that Anthony "dutchie" Tuzzo was connected to Gerard Pappa died approximately 6 years before, Gerard Pappa was killed.

Okay. But where did you read/hear that? Sometimes knowing the source helps evaluate the info.

Okay. Thanks for clearing that up. That makes sense. The Anthony Tuzzo listed in the SSDI (and who lived in Fort Lee, NJ) is an entirely different Anthony Tuzzo. Probably not connected to organized crime in any way.

Torrie (and anybody else who is interested in info on Tony Dutchie), I have just received some info on him from a reliable source who knows his stuff. The source met Dutchie at a place called Villa 66 a couple of times sometime prior to his death in 1974 (he believe it was). So you are right about him passing away around 1974. Villa 66 is the same place where Gerry Pappa was killed in 1980. Dutchie had very bad hearing, he was frail and old looking guy. He had hearing aids, but never let that fool anyone he could read lips from across the room. He did a lot of time in prison for a murder he did not do and was very close to Gus Frasca, a Genovese captain who passed away in 1980. Tuzzo got his name "Dutchie" because as a young man he had redish hair they use to say like a Dutchman. Dutchie loved his pigeons. He had coops on the roof of his restaurant.

My source never told me which restaurant but possibly the place was Villa 66.

Administration[edit|edit source]

Boss Domenico Cefalu[50] – A Sicilian-born mobster who started out as a heroin trafficker in the Family's Sicilian "Zip" faction. He was inducted into the organization in 1990 by John Gotti and joined the Pasquale Conte crew, a group that included relatives of Cefalu and held strong ties to Sicily. After being identified as acting underboss in the mid-2000s, Cefalu was eventually confirmed as the new boss of the family in 2011.
Underboss Frank Cali - Like Cefalu, Cali has strong ties to Sicily, in particular those close to his relative, John Gambino. Though he maintains association with the Sicilian faction, Cali was born and raised in New York City and eventually rose in stature within the regime of Jackie D'Amico. Cali was later identified as acting captain of this crew, though in 2012 he has been identified as Cefalu's new underboss.[63]
Consigliere Joseph "Jo Jo" Corozzo – a former capo, Joseph and his brother Nicholas "Little Nick" Corozzo control the Queens-based "Corozzo faction". In 1992, Joseph became consigliere after Gotti's imprisonment. On February 8, 2008, Joseph and Nicholas were indicted during Operation Old Bridge. In June 2008, Joseph pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge concerning the extortion of a Staten Island concrete firm and was sentenced to 46 months in prison. In 2011, Corozzo was indicted on new federal racketeering charges. He currently has no release date

Good post, but you shouldn´t rely on Wiki too much when it comes to info on the Mafia. Some corrections;

- Most of the remnants of the Brooklyn Camorra ended up with Masseria, not D´Aquila. In fact, D´Aquila lead a strictly Sicilian Mafia organisation. The only non-sicilian who was a member during D´Aquila´s/Mineo´s/Scalise´s reign seems to be Albert Anastasia.

- Carlo Gambino was the consigliere of this Family before being named acting boss by the Commission in 1957. It wasn´t until 1960 Gambino was formally named official boss.

- Paul Castellano served as acting boss a couple of years starting in 1967.

- Street boss is not a formal position within a Family, but somebody who steps up running the Family when the official boss is not available. A street boss/Acting boss can be a captain, consigliere or underboss.

- The underboss position under Anastasia was held by Nino Conte, Frank Scalise and Salvatore "Toto" Chirico. Possibly some of these guys funtioned only temporarily, or acted, in this position.

- Philip Mangano was a captain, he never served as consigliere.

- Biondo was the official consigliere from 1931 until he was demoted in the 1950s, either by Anastasia directly or after a request by the majority of the captains.

- Gravano served as acting consigliere until bumped up to underboss in 1990.

- Armone listed as an official consigliere 1990-1992 is wrong. Gallo was still the official consigliere during this time, and Joe Arcuri seems to have served as the acting consigliere after the indictment of Locascio.

Following the trial going on down there now, from the Nuova Cupola blitz from last June, Leo Sutera is capo provincia and Fabrizio Messina (brother of Gerlandino) is boss of Porto Empedocle. Both being sentenced but that's where it stand as of now.

Hi, fellow Louisianian here smile I'm pretty new at this too, but I think the easiest way would be to just use the search function at the top. That should lead you to the threads that may interest you.
