how much is this movie true i saw both parts but i seriously couldnt believe somethings. like that bonanno felt sorry for the tresca murder. and i looked it up and it says that he wasnt an honourful man at all and that he was actually a whiner. and is it true that he didnt deal drugs the movie says he didnt but some other sources say he did. and also was he really the victim when the commision wanted him dead or did he started it? and if there is anything more false in this movie would you please tell me?

You mean the one, cant remember its name. A godfathers story, i think. I hate that movie, it was based on the book of Bonanno and tells everything from his perspective and how much honour he had etc.

yeah i mean that one i liked the movie at first but then i learned some people claimed it was fake and that he was just an ordinary gangster with no honor who dealt drugs and who fled italy because the government was taking the gangsters out one by one and not because he was an anti-facist.

Enjoyable film, not really good. But I liked it more than that disastrous movie mobsters.

Fiction, plain and simple. In his autobiography, "A man of Honor" [sic], Bonanno claimed he never committed a crime after Prohibition was repealed. Yeah. Sure. Also claimed he never got into drugs. Yeah. Sure.

I think he was senile when he wrote that book, didn't he suffer from dementia in his later years?

True, at least the acting was decent. Mobsters actors acted like morons, bad imitation of gangsters back then.

yeah i mean this movie was great but bonanno shouldnt have lied on being honourful. he said he felt guilty about tresca's death and he made himself look like the victim in the banana's war. and seriously at first i really liked it when he talked about honour and all but later i learned it was just fake, would have been nicer if it was all true.
