Have you guys heard of the "Deep Web"? It's basically the rest of the internet doesn't show on popular search engines? From government secrets/databases to drug trafficking (Silk Road) and murder for hire. Obviously there is some drug trafficking going on and child pornography going in in the Deep Web but murder for hire and other really nasty stuff, I'm not too sure about. The question is do organized crime groups use the Deep Web to commit crimes and gain profit? Has there been any previous cases related to the "Deep Web" or vice versa?

You can't access them by Google or by using the "Suface Web" which you and me know, you have to download some programs to access the Deep Web and have to be protected because it's not safe to browse. You can get viruses, get your ID stolen, credit card info stolen, get child pornography etc or can you in trouble with law enforcement if you don't protect yourself. TOR is the program users use to access the Deep Web, the websites start with randoms numbers instead of www, you can't access it unless you use TOR.

Silk Road is one of the Deep Web sites where you can buy drugs from marijuana to MDMA. Here is a youtube video about it:

Supposedly the Deep Web is 550 times bigger than the Surface Web which is the Web 99.9% of the internet users use.

Fascinating stuff. Id read about "off the map" internet traffic before but had no idea of that sorta scale.

The dark side of globalization.

Like Mickey said, it's fascinating. It's like the computer the nerdy chick uses on "Criminal Minds."

But as far as real life mob guys go, I think you're giving them waaaaaaay too much credit. Most of them aren't literate enough to perform a simple Google search tongue lol.
