In the beginning of GF III, Michael says to Kay that the last time they saw eachother was 8 years ago, which would be about 1971. I came to think that this was likely when Tom Hagen died. According to the film's timeline Tom died somewhere in the 1970s so it would fit perfectly. I think it's pretty obvious that both Michael and Kay would attend Tom's funeral so if Tom died after 1971 Michael probably couldn't have made that statement to Kay.
"It was between the brothers Kay -- I had nothing to do with it."

Makes sense. I could also have been at Anthony's high school graduation. Assuming he did four years of college he'd have been in the class of 1976, and have had two out of three years of law school under his belt in 1978.
"Io sono stanco, sono imbigliato, and I wan't everyone here to know, there ain't gonna be no trouble from me..Don Corleone..Cicc' a port!"
"I stood in the courtroom like a fool."
"I am Constanza: Lord of the idiots."

Wow thats nuts. What is a 27 year old doing in law school? Did he take a few years off after college? Born 1951 means he should have graduated from college in 1972 or '73 at the latest.
