I didn't know Brasco met Persico, I knew he was involved in Hijacking with Jilly Greca and his crew. I think they appointed him to The Bonanno family because I believe Persico and his family were going down anyway.

He never met Persico. They put him with the Bonanno's because Jilly's crew was a dead end, as was mentioned in this thread. Mirra was a big target. Persico was in jail during the whole Brasco investigation. They weren't targeting Persico.

after carmine was convicted in the commission case he was negotiating to go on 60 minutes to do an interview

guys like gotti, cutolo, and orena called carmine a rat for doing that and for admitting the existence of la cosa nostra while on trial

when alley boy and gotti jr were on the street alley was still pissed off about gotti sr calling carmine a rat, gotti jr apologized to alley boy so there wouldn't be any hard feelings

I would like if Persico did have an Interview about him, He's not getting out any sooner so he should tell what he was involved with, with people who are now dead that he was involved with not sayin' names about people who are still living. I want to hear how he talk's like I did with Carlo Gambino. I was on a documentary once and someone asked a question to Gambino but he never did answer. Good for him but not for me, too bad.

I have respect for Greg Scarpa. All that I have heard was that he gave information about other crime families and people in his way which would help Greg and the feds, does anyone know if he gave information about his own friends?

Oh yes he did. His information sharing started in the early 1960s when he gave up a lot on Charlie LoCicero who was his sponsor, mentor and may have been his closest "friend" in the mob at that time. And other "friends" as well. However, he was rather sparse on information when it came to his brother. If memory serves me right, he only confirmed his brotherĀ“s membership in the Mafia, never revealed his activities or wrongdoings.
Another thing Scarpa never spoke about (again, if memory serves me right) was his involvement in murders.

I understand working with the FBI would be good help for the FBI and Greg but not giving up his friends.

i lived in the neighborhood 45 years and theres never been a guy who had the rep that scarpa did during his time. for that family anyways. there was tons of guys youd meet coming up,scarpa was serious as they come. for all the ppl toomy karate killed, he was hard to bare. he acted and sounded like joe pescis little brother... but scarpa was...well 'serious'.

needless to say when those kids took a shot at him half of new york was fucking shocked.
