Back in the 1930's, the Brooklyn DA believed Murder Inc. to be responsible for about 1000 deaths, coast to coast. Others put the estimate between 400 to 700.
Abe Reles was able to recount about 80 plus murders. You had members like Pittsburgh Phil, "Happy" Maione and "Blue Jaw" Magoon etc. who were responsible for quite a few murders. They were not members of Cosa Nostra, but were every bit as ruthless. Personally I believe the Roy Demeo crew was meant to emulate the Murder Inc. gang.

Lo Scannacristiani (spl?) they called the guy, "the killer of christians". He definitely had a lot of hits notched up, and some real messed up ones, too.
Creepy, pudgy and arrested with spaghetti stains on his face and shirt before he flipped, that was the pig that murdered Giovanni Falcone (r.i.p)
He's gotta be up there in terms of number, eh Furio? I think Nicky was talking about mobsters that operated in the US though. Still, I said Escobar, and I reckon Brusca had more hits to his name then him.

But when you think of the lives that could be saved with the testimony of someone high ranking within the Sicilian Mafia, which has its hooks in the government itself - you have to make a deal with the devil. You're right Gerry. Im re-reading "Family Secrets" and between Frank and his brother Nick there's a fair few bodies. Some of those Outfit guys could fill a cemetery by themselves, to steal a quote from Sicilian boss Matteo Messina Dennaro. Yep, the Calabrese brothers are some vicious dudes. Not only were they stone cold killers, they were also brutal in the way they killed. Frank Calabrese liked to strangle his victims, then slit their throat from ear to ear, while most mafia guys like to just use the gun.

Mobsters in sicily have body counts like 50-100 yeah i think it would be one of riinas hitmen like brusca or greco in the us i would say either anastasia or pitera. Roy DeMeo did far more than Pitera ever did. personally?

Frank Sheeran is probably the guy with the highest body count, if you're counting the guys he killed in the war in addition to his hits. In a particular instance he claims he did 3 sepparate hits in the span of a day. He said in his book he flew to Puerto Rico and 'did what he had to do' on two separate matters, then flew back to Chicago and did another one. A busy man.  A few guys who haven't been mentioned: -Lefty Ruggiero(27) -Gerard Pappa(37) -Mickey Featherstone -Stevie Flemmi -Johnny Martorano
