This is a documentary I found on youtube, which I have never seen before, it appears to be British and is very detailed at 2 hours long. What is interesting is there is a lot of info on DeMeo and his crew, including footage of DeMeo at a BBQ and even Joey Testa is there, also footage of Carlo Gambino's funeral where you can see all the big players including Paul Castellano. Good stuff on the alliance between the westies and the Gambino's. Then you have your usual Gotti stuff etc. Philip Leonetti is also interviewed on it. Oh yeah and PAUL CASTELLANO IS ON WIRETAPS!!! so too Bilotti talking about kick-ups from Gotti, Ruggiero also talking about drug deals. All in all anyone with an interest in the Gambino's has to see this, the best documentary I have seen on the family!

Good find man. i like all the surveillance videos and audios. The homes movies of demo were cool. I think those gotti videos are from about 1979. Also finally we hear Castellano's voice. Good documentary

Thanks for posting the youtube link. At the 6:10 mark Willie "Boy" Johnson, and a bunch of other guys come out of a social club behind Gotti. Alot of audio and visual images that I don't think are anywhere else. Wonder how they got ahold of all this footage. Excellent upload!!

Nice post I just watched it. Obviously it was done some years ago. I am a very big mafia buff and have read almost all the books and thought I had watched all the movies and documentaries and that was full of new interviews and footage even some of the electronic transcripts. Good find.

Good find indeed. I actually remember watching this when it first came out back in the 1990's.

Thanks for the kind comments guys, Phat is right that channel has some really good stuff on it, really thorough stuff. I find with the series "Mobsters" its more style over substance, good for an overview not great for detail.
On a side note does anyone know if Leonetti did interviews for other stuff? Its quite strange he did a British Documentary over a US one.

Castellano sounds a lot different than I thought he'd sound. He sounds sort of "guidoish"; kind of like a typical "Vinny" from the neighborhood guy. For some reason I thought he'd sound more grandfatherly and subdued.

That Leonetti Interview came from or was at least also used on an A&E special hosted by bill kurtis. I saw it a few years back, it looked like it was from the early to mid 90's.

Ya i thought the same way. Hearing his voice he sounds more like a gangster. I still think those perceptions of him of not being a gangster are false. He still ordered countless murders. I reallly want to hear the other tapes where talks to joe Armone about clipping people and he also curses throughout the whole conversation

Same here. His voice really suprises me. Had the same impression as you before I actually heard his voice. No wonder Gotti wanted to whack him. He didn't have a real "boss" voice like he did. wink

Are you kidding me? A real gangster has a strong voice. cool He sounds more like someone was squeezing his balls.
