first when I say zip factions I mean The sicilian mafiosi who came to New York after the french connection era, basically the pizza connection sicilians. they came here mainly to help on the retail end, and aligned themselves with the LCN families in new york. Also the offspring of these men whether american born or not. so most of them currently belong with the Bonannos , Gambinos, and Genovese but they also have their own community and ties to there respective sicilian clans that goes beyond LCN family allegiance. so are they more loyal to there LCN families or there expatriot sicilian community Or even there hometown sicilian clans? I think they have quite a balancing act with there loyalties

The Sicilians don't seem to have as much a presence in the U.S. as they did up through the 1980's. Still more than any of the other Italian syndicates though. You've got guys who only involved in Sicilian Mafia business and don't have much contact with the Americans. Guys who are from Sicily but were made into American mob families - mostly the Gambinos and Bonannos. And guys who are part of the Sicilian Mafia but work in conjunction with the Americans.
