Tomorrow night (Monday 2/14) on pawn stars a guy brings in a check signed by Carlo Gambino. I saw the preview the other day. Just thought i would give everyone a heads up!

A few years ago, after a particularly good trip to Atlantic City, I bought a check signed by Carlo Gambino. It was drawn on the account for S.G.S. Associates (Gambino's management company) and dated May 28, 1963. It's one of my favorite "collectibles".

It was authenticated and sold for $500. Though the guy who authenticated it twice misstated Gambino's year of death and said that to become made one had to be Sicilian. yeah i think they guy said that gambino died in 74, what they probably meant was that he was 74 when he died in 1976

The check on pawn stars was the same. S.G.S ascociates. The date was 1964 though i think... Somebody, evidently, got a hold of the SGS cancelled checks as has been selling them.... you can see some of them on EBay *. They're all from that general time period. * Go to EBay and do a search for "Carlo Gambino".

Interesting...most of the ones i see are written for $400 and i think the one on pawn stars was for the same amount. The really cool one i saw on ebay is the one signed by carlo and endorsed by giuseppe gambino.
