TB, Can't believe it , it snows and so nice white diamonds ! And then it is gone ! Lot's of items changing in the world weather for one ! Seems like the biggest one ! Still have the idiots, LOL ! And the Politics ! Same group ! Who is going to this and that and all we as citizens of the USA , can do is listen and say Right ! No better than weather forecasters ! I can tell more by how much pain I have than these idiots that have went to school for it !

1962 Nor'easter

This week marks the 50th anniversary of one of the most damaging storms to hit New Jersey. The Nor'easter hung around for three days, peak winds of 84 mph, 25 ft waves. The flood waters could not recede through 5 high tides. Above is a short trailer of a documentary. The documentary is free to Press of Atlantic City subscribers. I haven't watched it yet. I've been through a couple of nor'easter, but nothing like that.

I remember the storm, MC. I lived in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, then and we had some minor coastal flooding, but the tv coverage showed the Jersey shore getting SLAMMED.

Don't lie. You were still watching Howdy Doody when you were 11 years old .

"Howdy Doody" was already off the air at that time. I was watching "The Twilight Zone" then.

Ocean Avenue, in Brooklyn, was under water for a few blocks up from the Bay.

We are getting unseasonably warm weather here today. It's suppose to get to 87. Far out man!!!

It's my granddaughter's 8th birthday and I am having everyone over for dinner. I live right by a park, so we may just walk down there for a while and enjoy the gorgeous weather. Btw, it's suppose to cool down into the low 70's in a couple days. This warm is truly unseasonal.

Earthquake weather?

I don't necessarily think so. Unlike tornadoes, we don't necessarily know when we'll get an earthquake. It's unusual to be this warm but we usually get a couple winter days like this where it's like our Indian Summer I guess.

I'm so ready for spring/summer. There are not season changes like back East BUT there is that Spring in the air today that I sure notice. I'm ready for shorts & sandals and Daylight Savings Time.

Truth is, I am always cold. Right now I have a light sweater on inside. When I went to bring trash out a little bit ago, it was gorgeous. I may live on the edge and put short sleeves on. My kids always tease me that it's gotta be 100 and I'll say "it's just right."

It's 72. We escaped winter.

Winter never really hit Cental PA this year. It's sunny and in the 50s as it has been much of the season. I didn't wear my winter coat more than 3-4 times all year. I won't put it away, of course, until I get permission from SC, who has a better feel of the season.

Uh oh.... klydon is the REAL Punxatawney Phil.... if he's waiting for MY call that winter is over, we're all screwed.

Today it has been raining all day..

It's gotten considerably colder since these posts.

Sunny and cold today.

It IS cold. I saw how sunny it was, so I opened the window to the cats' room to air it out. Bandit jumped right up to get some fresh air and almost got blown away by the wind. But it's supposed to be back up to 60 by mid-week.

Upper 60s by Thursday. I'm hoping some of the warm air lingers for my daughter's Confirmation on Saturday.

Sunny with clear skies which is pleasant during the day....but frosty at night. Down to -3 C last night......

God bless her, Klyd! Whenever it was a special occasion, like a graduation or a wedding, my Aunt Dorothy put a statue of Mary in the window to safeguard the weather. It usually worked.
