Anyone else read this book yet? It's about Tommy "Karate" Pitera of the Bonanno family. Pretty good gruesome stuff.

Yup. I read it. I had a few issues with the author's (RIP) style. I reviewed it here

"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."
Winter is Coming

Now this is the Law of the Jungleā€”as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

The author is dead? Sad to hear it.

But yeah, I agree with your review. It's a great mob story, but the book is kinda sloppy. Right off the bat I had my worries when he (wrongly) claimed Gravesend got its name from the Gravesend cemetery. There were some mistakes with street names and locations too. The mistakes are mostly small ones, but they add up.

Still enjoyed it overall.

Hey just had a quick question. I'm trying to find locations from that book, I was able to find the Wrong Number bar, but I am unable to find the location of the Just Us Bar. Any help would be appreciated. I read your post , just thought you might know the area or are from there, thanks again for any help.

Tim
