How cool is this movie?!? One of the coolest soundtracks to accompany a film. I really like this movie and wondered if anybody else would share their thoughts. cool

Ha ha!! I remember Eddie & The Cruisers. Gosh, it's been years since I've seen it. I couldn't even tell you who starred in it, but you're right, great music. smile I'd watch it again.

An enjoyable film. It completely tanked at the box office, but was a hit on video and on cable.

This is the first role I remember the actor who played Ralph Ciffaratto (from "Sopranos"). The soundtrack is also very cool.

A lot of the film's locations were down here in sunny South Jersey; specifically the band played in a place called Tony Mart's (since demolished)in Somers Point, NJ. Tony's was a popular bar/dance club venue for many years. One summer the house band was "The Band" before they were famous. Word got out about the band and a fellow from NY came down to hear them - Bob Dylan. He asked them to back him up and the rest, as they say, is history.

It's funny. Last night on a local radio station, they were doing the top 20 hits from this week in 1984. "On the dark side" was number 14. I thought of this thread right away.

Hate to bump a thread so old but had to post. Huge fan of Eddie and the cruisers. Tender Years was always my favorite. Went to see john caffery back in early spring at the Katherine Hepburn theatre in old say brook, ct. An old New England town. And I'm early thirties as is my wife. Everyone else was 50 and up. They were swaying back and forth and snapping there fingers. Hilarious. Any ways im a huge fan. And PB as you know this was a book by PF Kluge. Good read. Goes more in depth than the movie.
Sorry for bumping but what the hey

Go to a doowop concert place is full of old fart grooving to the music. Even though all of my friends are dead except for two. When I go to these things I feel I am in a place full of friends I find it cool.

Once I went to the Beacon theather for doowop concert. I went with a lot of Harlem guys I could not sit with them because I got my tickets early I have to sit close because I can't see well and can't hear well either. So I sat close to the stage. They were in the balcony. So they see me and start calling to me before the start of the show. I look up at them then ask the people sitting near me who the hell are those nut jobs?

Want to see a cool movie see The Idolmaker staring Ray Sharkey. Ray was a cool dude unfortunely he died young from aids because he shared needles when he was on junk. He was great in this movie.
