Bottom feeding hangers-on.

before everything went down today i would had hated him for choosing new york or new jersey and i would understand if he would had stayed in cleveland.

after today i just hope that he doesn't go to the miami. other words meaning i dont care if he becomes a knick or net. if he becomes a bull great. if he stays at cleveland then he will have to bust his ass when he is up against boston, orlando, miami, and the bulls.

And I know how you feel about those payday loan companies! lol

Although those companies are nothing to laugh at. They'll ruin a life as fast as a shylock.

Take it for it's worth, Phoenix Suns forward Jared Dudley and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco bot posted on their Twitters that Lebron is signing with the Knicks. Also, Lebron is making the announcement tomorrow from Greenwich Connecticut, which is the home of the Knicks' training facility. We'll see. wink

This article from USA Today is exactly what I was thinking when I heard he's making the announcement in front of kids from Connecticut.

As the LeBron James guessing game continues, here's a wrinkle that might favor the New York Knicks as his next stop.

ESPN Radio confirmed to the New York Daily News that the network has booked the Boys and Girls Club in Greenwich, Conn., from 7-10 p.m. ET Thursday night. That coincides neatly with the 9 p.m. scheduling of James' announcement about where he'll play next season.

Yes, anywhere in Connecticut isn't far from ESPN headquarters. But Greenwich also is fairly close to the Knicks' training facility in Greenburgh, N.Y.

We don't have a dog in this hunt, but it seems reasonable to guess that if LeBron is going to stay in Cleveland that he would have his one-hour show on ESPN somewhere in the state of Ohio, and play up the hero-stays-home story as much as possible.

Kids in Greenwich aren't exactly going to be programmed to cheer if they hear LeBron saying he's sticking with the Cavaliers, or going to the Heat or Bulls.

Also, for what it's worth:

Phoenix Suns forward Jared Dudley is tweeting that LeBron is on the way to the Knicks, writing:

"Breaking News!!! My sources tell me Lebron will announce that he will be goin to the NY KNICKS tomorrow on ESPN.. This is serious.. WOW!!!!

What does a wedding in NY this weekend have to do with where LeBron signs?

nothing lol i was saying that he is in ct because of the wedding, not because he is driving down to MSG after the announcement. do you understand what im trying to say or not yet?

also too i guess espn is reporting that lebron is going to miami...if he does this i will have no respect for him, and i hope the bulls, lakers, celtics, magic, and knicks kick there ass.

Who ever said he's driving to MSG after the announcement? It's quicker to fly to NY from Ohio than drive from CT. He's not in CT on Thursday because he has a wedding in NY on Saturday. More than likely, he's in CT because he doesn't have the balls to to break everyone's heart in Ohio from Akron. As for the Knicks, they're still probably not the favorite to get him. More than likely he's going to Miami, but a lot of people think that is a smokescreen.

The local media is in such a speculation frenzy, that stock at MSG went up 6.9% yesterday. The papers are reporting that Dolan already pocketed at least 20-30 million from all the hype. Maybe he's the one fueling these rumors! lol

I was a big NBA fan, and a HUGE Knicks fan way back when. My brother and I used to go to 15 or 20 home games a year. But somewhere in the age of full body tattoos, baggy shorts and the all around thuggish image, I lost interest. That said, if Lebron were to sign here, it would definitely renew my interest in the game.

I know I rattle on and on about New York, but if you were here in June of '94, then you'd know that when it comes to showing appreciation for a winning basketball team, there is no place like New York. And we lost to the Rockets that year!

I still don't believe he's signing here, and if he doesn't, I'll root against him until the day he retires. But if he does, I'll gladly eat a little crow grin.

Besides, it would give Bam a heart attack, so there's always that tongue lol.

Easy, kid.

I'm old enough to remember both of the Knicks championships. Plus, I've seen the Mets win two, the Giants win 3, the Jets win 1, the Islanders win 4, the Rangers win 1, and the Yankees win countless championships. And I won't even count the Devils.

My point is that there's no place like winning it here. The parade downtown. The skyline. Every little thing.

So as for your quote: the knicks...yea i have no idea what they have the bulls don't.

They have New York City. And if you don't understand that, it's only because you've never been here smile.

LeBron has one of the biggest egos in sports history. It almost dictates he goes with the Knicks. If he chooses Chacago, he'll be in MJ's shadow. If he goes with Miami, he'll be back in a small basketball market and won't even be the most popular player on the team. NY is the only place I feel will satisfy his huge ego.

Great point, Lou. And if he goes to Miami, he has to share the spotlight. He'll go from King James to Prince James.

But I HATE that fucking King nickname lol.

Bullshit old man, you only quit when they quit winning. Or worse, overpaid stars not givig a shit about winning. OK I can't blame you for that last part. But Spike Lee is a better Knicks fan than you. tongue

Yeah that same series which the Knicks choked.

And no, he won't go to New York. Why would he?

Or Cleveland, which doesn't take much to become King of Cleveland.

Besides, wouldn't he also have to share NYC with Derek Jeter and Mark Sanchez? Jeter has the rings and respect, and Sanchez making the Jets relevant is enough for a Hero Cult there.

Bill Simmons at ESPN.com posted something quite interesting:

"I think he should pick Chicago, and if not the Bulls, then New York. But I live in a dream world where NBA superstars only care about winning titles and/or playing in the biggest basketball cities with sophisticated fans and tons of history. The truth is, New York might not mean anything to LeBron, just like college football recruits don't care about Notre Dame any more. He isn't old enough to remember Frazier's Knicks, or Bernard's Knicks … hell, he's barely old enough to remember Ewing's Knicks. And he might be too egotistical to follow Jordan in Chicago, like it was the sloppy seconds of NBA cities or something. But what do I know?"

In the end, as we all await tonight, does Lebron want rings or does he want the money or the glory, what does he want?

Although Gilbert's response is funny reading and I agree with some of it, much like Tom Hagen with Woltz, I am a little taken aback that someone at the top is so personally invested in something that is just business. The proper response should have been a statement like

"Obviously we are disappointed and saddened at the choice Mr. James made. We think that Cleveland offers him the best chance for a championship as well as a unique bond with fans and ownership. However we wish him the best and will see him in the playoffs. We continue to maintain our dedication to building a championship team here in Cleveland".

This is business. If someone offered Gilbert five times what he paid for the team but wanted to move it to Nebraska, Gilbert wouldn't be talking about what the fans deserved, he'd be depositing the check in the bank. whistle Teams regularly trade players like baseball cards and don't care about how loyal or nice a particular player has been. Business.

************************************************************
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.
The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.
You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.
This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.
Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.
Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....
Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."
Winter is Coming

Now this is the Law of the Jungle—as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

Business.

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

Cleveland Cavaliers

the bullseye is on miami's back now. i really want to root for cleveland to do this, but as a bulls fan i would love it if the bulls (michaels team) win a championship before jester james win it.

lebron is afraid of the challenge in new york and chicago, so with that i am glad he didn't pick the bulls. 4-5 months before the season starts.

o yea lilo you do know that now the bulls will win the central with either the bucks or pistons behind us.

How often before the start of the season do you think we're gonna hear Will Smith's song, "Welcome to Miami".

How about a little less questions and a lot more shut the hell up - Brian Griffin

When there's a will...put me in it.

Not so fast there, Chicago. I still have to believe that Joe D. has something up his sleeve. And contrary to his appearance it's not a jelly donut.. rolleyes
