Gary Coleman, the child actor who starred in the TV show Diff'rent Strokes has died, CNN and MSNBC reports. He was 42.

Update at 2:52 p.m. ET: The Associated Press reports that Coleman suffered the hemorrhage Wednesday at his Santaquin home, 55 miles south of Salt Lake City.

The actor was admitted to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and was conscious and lucid until midday Thursday, when his condition worsened and he slipped into unconsciousness. Coleman was then placed on life support, the AP says.

What you talking about, Lou?

I was keeping track of this since I heard this morning he was in a coma. I had a feeling he wouldn't make it. Todd Bridges better start living in a bubble.

Dana Plato, Dixie Carter, Dana Plato's son, now Gary. The old man's gonna out live all of them I think.

Well, Gary had a troubled life. Hopefully he can be at peace now.

Poor thing. I don't think he had a day in his life that he wasn't sick or exploited.

I know he had a lot of health problems and personal issues and it really is a shame. frown I saw him most recently on tv with his wife. I thought they had divorced, but evidently not.

As sad as it is, I too can't say I'm shocked.

Todd Bridges seems to be doing ok these days. He looked great singing in the big 'Glee' inspired finale at the recent TV Land Awards.

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.

- THOMAS JEFFERSON
