Hey everyone,

I am the author of the book Family Secret... There has been a few discussions on the book in some of the forums so I thought I would join the site. I am looking forward to coming in from time to time to see what the buzz is in the world of organized crime. Great site.

About Family Secret... The story solves the mystery behind the murder of Bugsy Siegel and provides an answer to who killed Siegel and why the crime was never solved.

Since the book came out in 2004 I have discovered a great many more things. Family members have come out of the woodwork and have helped clear up the fuzzy lines that still remained after I had written the book.

I am currently working with the Beverly Hills Police Department in an effort to take off the label "Unsolved Murder"

Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions. I look forward to being an active member of the site.

Hey Everyone

Just want you all to know that we SHOULD be making our second presentation to the Beverly Hills Police Department regarding the murder of Bugsy Siegel in Mid-June. The first presentation went well - I have a 275 page power point that I give on the story and after sitting through my first 3 hour presentation the lead Detective on the case (it is still open) agree to work with me in my efforts (and his departments efforts) to officially solve the case. I just have a few more missing pieces to the puzzle to try to track down... Very exciting. Since my book came out in 2004 I have discovered so much more information. Great stuff! I will keep the board updated - Could be an exciting time!

I am sure that many of you on this site know that Bugsy Siegel did not think of the Flamingo Hotel and Casino (Sorry to all the fans of the movie "BUGSY") - Credit for the concept of the FLAMINGO should go to William "Billy" Wilkerson. Wilkerson was the initial owner of the Flamingo project. Only after the project stalled due to funding issues did MEYER LANSKY come on to the project. Lansky had to convince Siegel to become involved in the Flamingo... After some coaxing Siegel came aboard, but not without a fight!

Also in a little known fact... Howard Hughes was involved in the Flamingo as a silent partner - He had provided Wilkerson with $200,000.00 in capital for the project in early 1946.

When Siegel eventually ran Wilkerson off the project, Siegel essentially had duped Howard Hughes out of almost a quarter of a million dollars - This never sat well with Hughes...

Does anyone here actually believe that the weather grounded the flights from Los Angeles to Las Vegas during the four day grand opening of the Flamingo Hotel on December 26 - 27 - 28 and 29? Check the weather during those days - Slight rain on the 26th but excellent flying conditions... The 27-28-29 were above average temps and light winds.

Hughes planes were chartered for the transportation of the stars headed to Las Vegas... The planes... and the stars never made it. It was the beginning of the end for Bugsy!

Warren, keep it coming...this is good stuff. I have always enjoyed hearing "the story behind the story."
