No, Don Ciccio was the man in the wheel chair in Sicily, whom Vito stabbed in the stomach (damn near eviscerated him, actually), as revenge for Ciccio murdering his family.
Fanucci is the man in the white suit in the flashback scene in GFII. He extorts Genco's father's store, he extorts Tessio and Clemenza, and tries to extort Vito, but Vito murders him, in the "light bulb" scene.
"Growing up my dad was like 'You have a great last name, Galifianakis. Galifianakis...begins with a gal...and ends with a kiss...' I'm like that's great dad, can we get it changed to 'Galifianafuck' please?" -- Zach Galifianakis

Fanucci never appears in GF--only in II. He's a local "Black Hand": a small-time gangster, probably acting alone, who has "permission" from the real Mafia boss of the neighborhood to shake down local merchants (like Genco's father). Presumably Fanucci would kick part of his earnings upstairs to the Mafia boss. An interesting and unrsolved issue in both the film and the novel: No one investigated the death of Fanucci, nor did any Mafia boss send anyone back into the neighborhood to continue extorting the locals. In the novel, Vito doesn't immediately launch himself into the Mob life. Instead, after a period of time, Clemenza visits him and says "no one is collecting" from the various rackets (like gambling) in the neighborhood. So Vito steps into the breach. And nowhere in either the film or the novel does it show Vito getting anyone's permission to operate, or having to pay off a higher-up. This leads to the possibility--liklihood, even--that Fanucci was a total free-lancer, operating without any connections to the Mafia.

If you're talking about the landlord who was planning to evict Mrs. Corleone's friend from her apartment because she had a dog, that was Signor Roberto.

I dont think Fannucci was ever mentioned in One, he does feature in Puzo's novel and in Two. Won't see him no more.

You should realize, though, that most of the members here consider this forum to be several notches above those that are typically found on the internet and, accordingly, try to write in such a way as to make ourselves as clear and as understandable as possible. Surely you would agree that the phrase "is he the guy who was gonna but theat families dog down?" is absolutley unintelligible.

But you seem to want to continue. Plawrence humblely apologized to you, so there was no reason for you to post what you did above. Your new here, so let me explain how we operate. We are a family and we respect each other here. So when a member here openly, on the boards, makes a mistake and apologizes to you, accept it and let it go. End of story. Don Cardi

Um, let's not get carried away here, DC. I apologized to the guy. Did you have to make it a humble apology?
