No post-draft changes. I promise. tongue

Alright, this is the fifth year we've played this game here on the GBB. The champions are listed below and the pattern is pretty evident.

2006: JL
2007: BL
2008: JL
2009: JL

JL has absolutely freaking dominated this game. Let's get someone else to the top guys.

I'd like to continue our preseason tradition of arguing about something. Any ideas?

Maybe we should raise the stolen bases to 3 pts.

Let's get rid of minus pts for a pitcher's loss.

Just a few predictions...
- JL will have more transactions than anybody else.
- BAM will pick up at least one Chicago Cub. He's a fan of Chicago teams, have you guys heard?
- JG will use his derogatory nicknames the following baseball teams: Yankees = Yank-mes, Mets = Mutts, Red Sox = Red Sucks, Astros = Lastros (actually, I think the last one is mine).
- BL will send me hate mail for picking up Lincecum ahead of him in the draft
- JG will giggle when he reads the name "Lincecum" in the previous prediction
- Yogi will win first place (in the race to tell us a drinking story)
- TM will show us his new tattoo of Albert Pujols
- Bethie will show up every now and then and revel us with stories of former and current Yankees: A-Rod, Wang, Chan Ho Park
- SB will be sad when Jeter finally marries Minka Kelly.

You forgot Johnson and Woody.

Geoff likes the Small and Long grab.

Oh, that's just too easy.

it is based on a stat created by Bill James, which measures how many team points were produced directly by the manager's work.

My stepson wants to play fantasy baseball this year, but it doesn't like we are going to get enough friends and family together for our own league. If we can't, would you guys mind if he joins our league? He's almost 16. He hasn't played before and doesn't know a ton so he really wouldn't be a threat to win, but it would be a good experience for him to see how a good league works. I would make it clear that he plays from beginning to end regardless of how well he's doing.

I'm not even sure if he wants to join our league, but I just thought I would ask you guys before I give him the option.

I have no problem, as long as he doesn't try to trade you Lincecum for Oliver Perez. wink

if you stand that he'll play "from beginning to end" I see no problem. The more, the merrier wink and we are not in a position where we can afford to wait for friggin Cockcroft or Bill James (him again!) to come in lol

just make sure he reads some hardballtimes.com or the mlb.com fantasy preview or whatever Bill James has got to say. just to make sure that he won't trade a top 10 SP for Craig Biggio or pick Jimmy Rollins with the overall #4 pick in the draft wink
