How long before Bengals kicker Shayne Graham gets fired?

I didn't have a lot of confidence in the Bengals, but I didn't think the Jets could win with a rookie QB.

Anyone watching the other games? Eagles and Cowboys just started. I'm really only planning on watching St. Louis and Green Bay tomorrow. Next weekend is when I'm excited to see all of the games.

New England wins by 6 or 7
Green Bay wins by 3

The games already played I figured the Jets would win by 7 and the Cowboys by 10.

Jets, Cowboys....I'm 2 for 2 in my office pool. Need the Ravens, Packers today for a sweep.

The Eagles looked as bad last night as they did last week. Either they did not adjust or the Cowboys really were that much better. The 'boys dominated both lines.

Jets could be trouble for whoever they meet next. As long as their running game keeps moving it will keep Sanchez out of trouble.

They got a pass two years ago because they went 16 and 0 (before losing to the Giants in the Super Bowl).

They got a pass last year because Brady went out in game one.

But this year it's official. The Belichick-Patriots dynasty is now officially over.

Yay clap.

I was wrong today but even down 21 I thought Green Bay would win

Playoff thoughts:

The Jets will not be able to run the ball as effectively against SD as they did vs. Cincy. And they'll need more yardage out of Sanchez if they hope to win.

The NE game was over after the 1st quarter. Tom Brady looked mortal. In fact, he looked like Rex Grossman, Trent Dilfer (fill in with a crappy QB).

Dallas is firing on all cylinders right now. I think Brad Childress lost another inch of hair watching that game. If Minnesota does lose, I'm wondering what Favre's injury excuse will be or who he will blame for the loss...

I feel for Aaron Rodgers to lose the game that way. I'm not a GB fan, but I was pulling for the Packers yesterday. What a terrible non-call in OT when Rodgers was clearly hit helmet-to-helmet. That should have offset the penalty called on GB. Arizona vs. New Orleans looks to be a dream offensive matchup, at least on paper.

....and there was also a face mask to Rodgers on that play that wasn't called. Oh, well he'll be back next year with a vengeance. Warner is so clutch. Five TD passes. Quite a show. Warner v. Favre (if it ends up that way), potential shootout.

I thought the biggest reason that Cincy lost was Carson Palmer, who, I believe, is not built for the big game. While I thought the Bengals would beat the Jets, Palmer played like the rookie while the other USC QB played like a veteran.

Dallas is playing excellent football, and the defense is elevating itself each week. It will be a dogfight in Minnesota.

The Ravens/Colts game can be an exciting one. The Ravens are a much more physical team, and if they can get Manning out of the pocket, it could be a rough night in Indy. Baltimore has one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL, and if they can get a lead late in the game, they might be able to close it fast.

The Cardinals and Packers put on quite an aerial show, but I believe the better team won. Warner and Rodgers were excellent, but the defenses gave up too many yards after the receptions.

For next week I'll pick the Vikings to nip Dallas, the Colts to hold off the Ravens, the Chargers to trounce the Jets, and the Cardinals to upset the Saints.

I disagree somewhat about Palmer. He was poised to be one of the elite QBs until he was injured in that playoff game against Pittsburgh. Palmer has never been the same player since, mentally now more than physically. With TJ off to Seattle and the death of Chris Henry, Cincy only has one legit WR threat with Chad Johnson. Palmer would benefit tremendously from an elite TE or another receiving threat so that defenses cannot key on Johnson. With the emergence of a strong running back in Benson, Cincy can make a run if they give Palmer one more playmaker.

I don't think Palmer's game is affected by the knee injury 4 years ago. His accuracy is poor as many of his incompletions were way off the mark. I agree that his wide receivers aren't the best. I'd say that Chad Johnson is fair, at best. But Palmer seems as confused as a rookie sometimes. The Bengals had a great run this year, beating the Ravens and Steelers twice. I give Palmer some credit, but I have to give most of the credit to the defense and running game.

I'll take Dallas over Minnesota by 7.

Arizona over New Orleans by 4.

Indy over Baltimore by 6.

Chargers over Jets by 10+.

I think it is a mental thing too. Daunte Culpepper has never been the same after his knee injury.

You don't like the guy, but you can't deny his talent. He has had 7 seasons where he played every game. In those 7 seasons he was over 1,000 Yards, and averages over 8TDs a season, he also has 5 seasons over 85 catches.

Yeah, I just loathed his father, so I guess that has something to do with it. But even if he wasn't Buddy's kid, he still looks like an asshole lol.

I disagree, Klydon, regarding your statement that Chad Johnson is "fair at best." He's past his best years at age 32, but he is still a playmaker that defenses have to account for on the field. I don't care for his antics, but he is a good receiver. Several years ago he was a Top 10 WR in the league, but those days are gone.

I'm not sure which game that I am looking forward to more: Dallas-Minnesota or Arizona-New Orleans. It will be interesting to see if Minnesota tries to establish Peterson early and often. They have underutilized AP all season with the addition of Favre. If it's a close game and Favre has to win it, I think he will throw one of his famously stupid passes into quadruple coverage (see 2007 NFC Championship vs. NYG or the ridiculous heave he had in the playoffs against Philly several years ago).

Arizona & the Saints has the makings of another offensive explosion. Much of the Saints defense is injured and their offense has not looked right since they manhandled the Patriots on MNF about 2 months ago.

It could be the highest scoring game ofthe weekend. I like the Cardinals because of their coaching and Kurt Warner, one of the great postseason quarterbacks in NFL history. I'm also impressed by Wells, who, I thought, might be a risk, but has shown that he can run with the top backs in the game.

The Cardinals and Chargers have been my Super Bowl pick since the end of the season.

Look at the QBs in the playoffs

Proven winners:
Manning
Favre
Warner

Moving Up in Rank:
Rivers
Brees
Romo

Trying Hard:
Flacco

Rookie:
Sanchez

If the NFC championship comes down to Warner-Favre, I think I'd have to lean toward Warner because the Klyd's reasons on Favre.

But then there is the all important DEFENSE....Vikings. Oh, God, I don't know!!

lol

I'll be pulling for the Vikes. If you're not a Cowboy fan, you can't root for them...even though Tony Romo has impressed me.

I had a co-worker tell me that she is rooting against the Cowboys because, as a Steelers fan, she doesn't want another team to have the same number of rings. Which for me is enough reason to root FOR the Cowboys.

Regardless of that, I hope DeMarcus Ware puts a couple of bone-crushing hits on Mr. Favre, even if it results in a flag.

Yeah, I agree, Goombah. I wouldn't mind seeing Favre end his career on his back. Nothing permanent, of course whistle.

Isn't it ironic that now that Romo isn't spending time with Jessica Simpson (on her back) that he is playing better? You would have thought he would have been constantly "relaxed" being around her, if you get my drift.

I only want Favre out long enough so that he can't "contemplate" another comeback next season.
