I know that iPods/Apple do not have this feature, but I found two sites that proclaim to take your songs from iPod back to the computer hard drive:
http://www.easyipodtransfer.com/ipod-to-itunes-transfer

http://www.ipod2computer.com/index.php?SRC=6&gclid=CLS6t5q8iJ4CFWpd5QodDl1UpQ

Anybody ever try this? I lost a ton of stuff when I had to reinstall Windows XP after a virus infected my pc. I'm a bit skeptical, but willing to try this. It certainly would be better than the hassle of loading upteen hours of music from cd back onto the computer.

I can't help you exactly, but I know there is a way to do this without downloading any software. Although it's a bit complicated. I did it once a long time ago and it worked. However if these programs are free then it would probably make it a lot easier. But if money is an issue then do a search on how to copy ipod songs back to your pc without external software.

If you don't figure it out or get better advice in the next few days I will try to find out how to do it for you when I get more time. Sorry I'm not much help right away!

Thanks Blibble. The 2nd link did end up working, even though it took awhile. It was called "Media Widget" and it was free. It was much better than the hours it would have taken to manually convert hundreds of cds/songs.
