The Cuban Mafia was started by Cuban gangster Jose Miguel Battle Sr. in Union City, New Jersey. Battle moved there from Cuba in the early 70's and started the Cuban Mafia, which is called the Corporation by members. The Corporation has crews in New Jersey, New York and Florida. Battle was known as the Godfather of the Cuban Mafia. He died in Miami in 2007, and his son Jose Miguel Battle Jr. took over the organization.

The 25 top guys in the organization, including both Battle Sr. and Jr., were indicted back in 2004.

This guy was basically the real SCARFACE. Maybe Tony Montana was even partly based on this Battle guy.

I don't know. The newer version of the Scarface rose on a wave of drugs. Battle's organization expanded into narcotics later on but their bread and butter was always illegal gambling.
