I purchased Mafia Allies:The True Story of America's Secret Alliance with the Mob in World War II. First published on 3/15/2007 and again on 10/22/2008. I found it at Barnes & Noble for $5.98(membership discount also subtracted from bargain price). It was originally $24.95, but after 2 years the price was knocked down. Does anyone know about this book or any books similar(regarding the US government's alliance with the mafia during WWII)? I felt like the price was a steal, plus history of the US government going to the mafia for help sounded quite interesting. I have only read 2 or 3 pages so I can not give a review of it.

You know, we always called each other good fellas. Like you said to, uh, somebody, :You're gonna like this guy. He's all right. He's a good fella. He's one of us.: You understand? We were good fellas.
