Took my daughter to her first trip to International House of Pancakes today. Hadn't been there in many years myself!!

Have to say we were a couple of very happy campers on the way home. Planning to make several Sunday brunch trips over the coming Fall/Winter.

When we lived in VA, me and the Col. would go to IHOP quite often. Back then the food was great. But the ones I have gone to recently the food was always cold and not cooked through. yuck!! sick

Likewise, I haven't been there in ages myself. I'm about due for a Rooty-Tooty-Fresh-and-Fruity breakfast. blush

There was a seasonal 'Football' menu that had to be seen to be believed. Almost ordered from it but simply couldn't decide!! Next time I'll be ready!

My daughter actually ordered a super ham & cheese omelette (w/ side of buttermilk pancakes) of which she was full after about 4 bites. We took home the rest & will share tomorrow for holiday breakfast.

I ended up having another seasonal dish, the 'Pumpkin Pancakes Combo'. Didn't taste the slightest hint of pumpkin, but they were still delicious!

Cracker Barrel....almost went there one day last winter. Closest one is about a 45 minute drive though, and we decided to put it off. Will try again soon, hopefully.

The closet one to me is about a 1/2 hour away. I love their biscuits and gravy.

I've been there a couple of times, both times past midnight. I was impressed by the fact that I can have a full meal at that time - the portions were quite large. I had garden omelette, which was pretty tasty. I don't like sweet syrups in my food, so I stay away from pancakes.

We do not have them in Canada, but the equivalent (at least in Toronto) is the Golden Griddle and that is a chain that has gone way downhill over the years.

Went to IHOP last night. Some of the slowest service I have ever encountered. Worst of all, it was not even remotely busy. The food was mediocre. I really enjoyed it the previous time I went, but may reconsider in the future. Disappointing.

I go there sometimes. If I don't order a breakfast platter, I usually order the good ol' Country Fried Steak. The pancakes are pretty good, though. Not sure if it's better than Perkins, though.

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

I haven't been to an IHOP in years, but I used to love their silver dollar pancakes. I also loved that they bring you a whole damn pot of coffee!

I think IHOP is way better then Denny's. I don't know if you guys have a Carrow's, but we have them out here in Cali. They serve a really good breakfest too. I like IHOP's pancakes, french toast and waffles. It's as good as it gets.

The Original Pancake House, among the restaurant chains, might be a nice change of pace from IHOP. The Apple Pancake, on their home page, is a personal favorite.

We used to have Golden Bear Pancake House in the Chicago area. There were a handful around the city, but I'm pretty sure they closed their doors several years ago.
