Same old story with the same old ending. Come on people can't we all just get along- RODNEY KING

But to be fair here, it was his own thread.
No one has to keep coming back in if they don't want or like what he is saying right?

One thing I will give him, he has posted stuff to keep the boards alive. Isn't much of a reason to come on around like FAME asked us to, if there isn't anything to post to?

Thanks Fathersson.

I don't see what I've done to deserve it. I thought some of the stuff I said in the OP was good. I'm certainly being picked on. Like being back at school and being the shortest in the class all over again.

Take some advise?

Slow down with the anger.

Been there, done that and seen the same thing many times before. Not everyone on an open board are going to click.
Just like everywhere else you will find conflicts.

Some stay for a while and wind up spending more time fighting then posting anything worth reading. (I think many enjoy this fighting more then they will admit)

Some people just stop posting and leave after a while.
Because it isn't worth the time.

The choice is yours. If you like the subject matter here, then then stay. But try to change your comments to sound less harsh if you don't agree or get a answer that you don't like.

The truth is, you aren't going to change most old timers minds around here. Take my word on it. - smile

and to the ones you read that have a sharp edge to them against you? Thicker skin would help and move on, but keep the posts and thread on track!

Good luck.

This is one of the most civil boards on the web, and the members are sensitive to this. You are entitled to your opinions, and people are entitled to agree, disagree or ignore them. However when someone does not agree and you begin to nit pick repeatedly you are not acting in the spirit of these boards. You have made it very clear you don't think Sicily should have played a large role in GFIII. I and others don't agre if you with this point of view. If you wish to comment on the diagreement, then you may do so, but only if you are bringing something new to the table, and that does not include personal attacks.

Your suggestion, for example that I provide you with proof that Connie harbored some unspoken resentment towards Michael is a good example of a bad post. It was your theory that she had this resentment, but you never gave any evidence I of it, yet when I diagreed, you demanded that I prove a negative, which is impossible, and even more impossible because there is nothing in the movie or script that suggests this i the case. It is simply your theory.

Also glad to see you took down those comment about Cardi and Apple.

I agree that the proof comment was out of line, with you, out of line - I apologise, but I felt only the negatives were being drawn from my post and no positives - as usual. Also the fact that you said its been discussed before, I think I'm owed an apology for that.

This board is not civil, my OP was civil and well worded. 'the world is against me' is a common phrase, thats the way I feel on here, I can do no right, unless I become a robotic drone and agree with the common denominator in all things.

My theories were denounced as WRONG by a member on this thread, not just the word wrong in capitals mind, but in BOLD. This member could well get away with ordering a hit on me, in fact, no doubt she'd be congratulated for 'shutting me up', as is the way of this place.

I explained in concise words why I feel as I feel. Someone like you Tomasso, or Olivant, and the excellent Turnbull, can respond to a post without stating in print that I can't think the way I think, and then accuse me of posting stuff purely for attention or any other such crap. Just read the OP...I put my heart into it. In the words of Joey Zasa, I have been treated with no respect.

It's a witch-hunt, people are out to get me and I won't idly stand by and be humiliated time and time again. I've asked Don Cardi to delete me as I can't bear to be in a community that has a gang-up culture and stops me from having whatever the hell opinion I want. I have too much pride

When I'm gone, the members in question can give each other a metaphorical high-five that they've drummed a fine GF fan out with their spite.

Guys and gals, please stick to the topic on hand (about Part III) and leave the comments about a particular poster and/or their posting style to PMs.

Yeah... let's start off with a clean slate, stay on topic, and keep the abusive comments outta here. At the same time, FS is correct in that if you can't take opposing arguments, there's no sense in arguing. Sure, it can be handled better, but no one here is perfect. Everyone on the planet thinks they're right, and there's no getting around that. wink We're here to present our own ideas -- right or wrong -- not to be bashed, but to get opinions. Not everyone's gonna say "Wow, you're right, I was wrong!" because there isn't any right or wrong. It's all speculation and opinion.

When a plot against a moderator failed -- the planner was always given a chance to redeem himself and keep his member status. If not they got knocked off the boards and all their posts count went to cyberspsace..... Unless they took their arguement off the boards -- then nothing happened. And their member status -- their member status was left alone.

When a moderator asks ANYONE to take their bickering off the boards, then the bickering should be taken off the boards. There should be no arguement!

Finnochio, SC is probably one of the fairest Mods not only on these boards, but maybe on the entire internet.

I say that everyone sticks to the topic at hand and stops all this back and forth bickering. We all have our opinions, are entitled to those opinions, and should be civil when debating and exchanging thoughts about a trilogy that we all love.

It's the way pop wanted it!

Ahem.....all righty....Now lets all sing Kumbaya and say we agree on the following:

1. GF III was not as good as Gf or GFII. From there it is a matter of degree, some hated it, some liked it, and there are many viewpoints in between.

2. George Hamilton was awful.

3. Lamberto's assistant brought Michael the O.J. and candy too quickly.

You think that strained credibility, dt? How about Anthony getting to sing Turiddu with his, uh, "voice"?

Come to think of it I always wondered about Douglas' telegram saying he hopes Anthony sings better at the opera than he does in the shower. What does this mean? Does running water make his voice go bad?

Apparently it didn't take much to make his voice go bad.

Did Douglas perhaps deserve more of a starring role in the film?

I don't even know why he was necessary.

An homage to Merle Johnson. Another useless "wasp" that did nothing to develop the plot.

Come to think of it, the film may have gone pitifully wrong when it came to ALL of Vito's grandsons. Here's what each grew up to be by the time of GFIII:

Michael's son Anthony: An opera singer.

Tom's son Andrew: A priest.

Sonny's illegitimate son: A thug who aspires to 'belong' to dad's family.

Sonny's 'legitimate' sons: Nowhere to be found.
Connie's sons: Nowhere to be found.

I think they took the weeniest way out when there could've been much more interaction between the male cousins. Not necessarily all rivalries, but more family stuff going on.
