Why do you think that when Michael settled all family business it didn't show the hit on Fabrizzio like it is in the book, I mean it would have been an awsome addition to the already wonderful scene a rugged Fabrizzio working at a pizza place jsut minding his own business thinking he won't ever get any reprecusions from his actions against Michael Corleone, and then a man walks in and nobody pays attention to him walks up to the counter and motions to Fabrizzio to come over and then
"Hey kid you look familiar" "What No!"
"Fabrizzio, regards from Corleone!"
BOOM the lupara blast a hole in his chest as he flie back into the ovens
The man calmly walks out and gets into a long black car and speds off leaving Fabrizzio ripped apart in a pool of his blood

Oh man what do you think another masterpiece scene or what???????
Well i'm no FFC of Mario Puzo but I thought it would be a damn good scene

Hey, how's it going?

Yes, the car bomb scene is in The Epic version.

I've wondered about that scene ... why they chose to have Fabrizzio not know why it was the moment of his death, as it would be if he was told "regards from Corleone".
Still, it was a good scene, showing the humble life he was leading; taking a pizza home in the old-fashioned shirt-box type box, tied with string. Then without warning ... morte.

It was a mistake to leave that scene out.

yes, it was a BIG mistake to delete this scene, I didn`t know if Fabrizzio got gone without paying the crime until I saw his car blowing up.

Yeah what a shame but oh well GF is still a classic and still the greatest movies of our time.....but man how awsome would it have been to have a scene with hiim knowing it was Michael Corleone that a signed his death warrant

There is a scene that was actually filmed, but never included in any version (not even as a deleted scene anywhere) in which Michael, dressed in classic gangster clothes (pearl-gray fedora, black coat) walks into Fab's pizza place with Fab's own lupara, and blows him away. You can see stills of this scene in Harlan Lebo's "The Godfather Legacy," pp. 180, 184-5, and 200. What I wouldn't give to see that scene! cool

I think having Michael kill Fabrizio would be the most appropriate. It would rare for a don to actually carry out a hit himself because of the legal risks, but Fabrizio's betrayal hurt Michael more than anyone's. It could be argued he was one of the single most important characters in the trilogy. If he hadn't killed Appolonia with that bomb, she would have come back to America with Michael as his wife and, more than likely, lived a life very similiar to Momma Corleone. Michael would have had a family much more similiar to Vito, being loved and revered, as opposed to despised and resented, by those around him. For those reasons, he would have personally wanted to kill Fabrizio himself.

If the scenario Joe Batters presented had been filmed, I think it would have been a nice personal touch for Fabrizio's assasin to be Calo. He continued to work with the family through Don Tamassino. Calo uttering that, "Hey kid you look familiar. Fabrizio, regards from Corleone" line, then seeing the "oh shit" look on Fabrizio's face as he figures it out would be priceless.

There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live.

What I always think was a little bit strange:
Fabrizio messed up the Micheal-hit (he killed Appolonia, not Mike), so i think its a little bit strange that the Barzinis made him emigrate to the US....

Yeah you would think if anything they'd be pissed that he messed up and not really want to help him.

Yeah, but then again, The Barzini family probably didnt want to
be know as the full ally of the Tataglias in the war against the Corleones. If Fabrizzio would have been caugth by Micheal,
I think he would have talked (after some hours of incredible torture) and told him that he was paid by the Barzini family. They just needed to hide him...

Spell it Fabrizio please! Not Fabrizzio, which is a terrible spelling mistake (never put a double zed before two vowels!!That's why our delightful friend Zia is called Letizia and not Letizzia)!!! lol lol
Out of curiosity: is this the way Puzo spells the name in the novel? eek

I know it's in the Saga, because I saw it when I taped the Saga from television. It doesn't occur at the end of the 1st Godfather, but instead it occurs closer to the beginning of Michael's story line in Godfather Part II.

I don't have the Epic, but if TonyD says it's in the Epic, then it must be there also smile .
