OKLAHOMA CITY – Long-secret security tapes showing the chaos immediately after the 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building are blank in the minutes before the blast and appear to have been edited, an attorney who obtained the recordings said Sunday.

"The real story is what's missing," said Jesse Trentadue, a Salt Lake City attorney who obtained the recordings through the federal Freedom of Information Act as part of an unofficial inquiry he is conducting into the April 19, 1995, bombing that killed 168 people and injured hundreds more.

Trentadue gave copies of the tapes to The Oklahoman newspaper, which posted them online and provided copies to The Associated Press.

The tapes turned over by the FBI came from security cameras various companies had mounted outside office buildings near the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. They are blank at points before 9:02 a.m., when a truck bomb carrying a 4,000 pound fertilizer-and-fuel-oil bomb detonated in front of the building, Trentadue said.

"Four cameras in four different locations going blank at basically the same time on the morning of April 19, 1995. There ain't no such thing as a coincidence," Trentadue said.

He said government officials claim the security cameras did not record the minutes before the bombing because "they had run out of tape" or "the tape was being replaced."

"The interesting thing is they spring back on after 9:02," he said. "The absence of footage from these crucial time intervals is evidence that there is something there that the FBI doesn't want anybody to see."

Somebody created mayhem on my property last night. They pulled my garden fence down and then stole the wooden fence panels

I spent Thursday and Friday in Washington, D.C., attending ceremonies for the retirement of a close friend from his Pentagon position of overseeing the Reserve forces. I had dinner aboard the DSS Barry, a decommisioned destroyer docked at the Wash. Navy Yard. I asat with some generals, some of whom were at my house on the 4th of July as guests of my friend. These are guys in their 50s and 60s, who could decapitate you in 4 seconds, but are the nicest people you'd want to meet. We followed with drinks at the hotel Thursday night.

The ceremony in the Pentagon at the Hall of Heroes was impressive. I met the Secretary of Defense, and Senator Webb, who was the first person to hold the position that my friend wasleaving. The ceremony included a brass quintet and a recitation from an Executive Order, prepared by the President. I got a VIP tour of the Pentagon. My jaw dropped many times as I was amazed by the technology and pace of the office.

It was a thrilling time with wonderful people.

It seems to me that if someone was going to break onto your property and steal something they'd steal something of high monetary value (that they could re-sell). I suspect the fence may have cost you a good amount, but to whom will the thieves sell it?

I know that it is not uncommon for moonlighting construction workers to steal supplies from job sites. I bet someone was hired to install a fence, and cut costs by stealing the fence. Report it, and maybe they'll be on the lookout for a new fence going up.

Pretty impressive night, klyd.... that kind of power makes me nervous to be around. I'd be afraid to have a drink or two and start joking around about something.

We reported it last night klyd. The police came and gave us a crime number to help with insurance purposes. Of course they are to busy to actually look for our old fence panels i imagine but you never know? Like you say they may come across some miscreant putting up a "new" fence.

I tend to think more along the lines of drunks "having a laugh" and the fence,once ripped down has been smashed into a thousand pieces,causing much more hilarity amongst the thieves

why do American people think that there is a conspiracy if something extroadinary happens? 9/11, JFK, this and probably some more. I know it's against all odds that 4 camera's are off at the same time, but come on. Are some people not 'searching' for things against the odds to 'prove' they are right? I always find it funny. And everytime it has to do with the CIA/FBI/Government...why's that? To create the mystique sphere around these organizations?

I'd love to hear some reactions.

That's exactly what it would have been. I don't know what it is about fences and drunks walking home, But they always get smashed and ripped up etc. I've seen it happen many times back in the day, we'd be walking home in the early hours and some idiot would start on a fence. Happened every time.

According to my baby chart thingy, only four days to go...that crept up fast!!

WOW! Don't be surprised if it happens in the next 10 minutes or the next 10 days, though. My first was 13 days late and my second was a week early. Just hope she has an easy time of it! And let us know how you are all doing!

I had to get a sonogram on my thyroid today. Now my throat hurts.

I always did think she was kind of pretty. To be honest, I'm trying to think of what movies I've seen her in. For some reason the only one that comes to mind was "Dear Bridget" with James Stewart about the little boy obsessed with her. Maybe that was the tamest movie she made hu? (at least for that time)

I said that today was Bridget Bardot's birthday (sexy French movie actress) and that she was 75. SC posted a picture of Sally Struthers (who I said the older Bardot resembled).

Sally Struthers was Archie Bunker's daughter, Gloria, on the tv show All In The Family. She looks a whole lot different now then when she was on the show.
