My name is Casey. I like it, I think it suits me well.

It was my grandfather's nickname because of the Grateful Dead song Casey Jones. My grandfather was dating a woman with the last name Jones and people called him Casey Jones. The Casey part stuck. Part of my family still calls me Casey Lynn even though he's deceased. Lynn was my great grandfather's first name. I am glad my name has some family meaning.

I don't think I'd ever pick a different first name if I could. Thankfully my mom went with that instead of her father and grandfather's names. Harley Richard.

How do you feel about the name your parents gave you?

I was called Sean for about a week. Unwittingly, my mother's mother made my mother feel guilty that I hadn't been named after my father. So it was changed.

I was named after my father. I like my name. My middle name is Anthony and if I were to choose another first name it would be Anthony.

I absolutely despise my first name Mignon. I don't know where my parents got it. People have trouble pronouncing it. It was very hard growing up with it. I hate my middle name Gail, but not as much as I hate my first name.

I love my Daughter's name. Rebecca Elizabeth, we named her after the Col's Sister and my Mother's middle name. The Col picked it out.

So, your father's name is Capo? tongue How cool! wink

Kly, how interesting.

I was named after my grandmother (mother's side), as Italian tradition naming after grandparents. I have no problem with my name, Ann. Could have been a whole lot worse with some real off the wall name. I had a cousin who's name was Illuminata (light). She hated it from grade school on when teachers/kids would has how to say it, or where it came from, etc. We ended up calling her Annette (her choice) her whole life.

Really though what's in a name? You get use to it eventually...well, most of the time. smile

My First name is Ian (E-N) I like my first name, my Middle name is Fox and it is after my Great Grandfather: Fox Marshal

He - (Simón Bolívar) - was shaken by the overwhelming revelation that the headlong race between his misfortunes and his dreams was at that moment reaching the finishing line. The rest was darkness. "Damn it," He sighed. "How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!"

So what’s the labyrinth?

That’s the mystery isn’t it? Is the labyrinth living or dying? Which is he trying to escape - the world, or, the end of it?

Well, My names Ryan. Don't know why I was called that. I don't dislike the name. Don't like the name either. It's a label. It's generic. It's my name.

Now, Sessile is a gay name.

My name is Shawn, because my Mom liked the names of Sean Connery and Shaun Cassidy. My middle name was originally Christopher, which had no meaning other than starting with the letter "C" like my Dad's*. So when I was about 20 I changed it to Colin after my grandfather. Same middle initial but with meaning. It made my Grandfather proud because none of his grandchildren had been named after him.

*His middle name is Coy and he didn't want to pass that name on, thank goodness! It had already been passed down for generations and nobody knew what it meant.

I've explained this already in the previous topics asking the same question ( tongue ) but in short:

My parents wanted to name me "Geoffrey James" but they thought it sounded too much like Jesse James, so switched it to James Geoffrey. The G is in honor of my mom's mom, Grace, who died before I was born. As for the letter J, I'm not quite sure the significance, but everyone else in my immediate family has a middle name starting with J, including my parents. While my name is officially spelled Geoff, it was spelled Jeff in grade school because it was easier I guess. I later reverted back to Geoff in high school I think. In school I always had to say, "call me Jeff/Geoff" on the first day, but after a while (after high school) I didn't feel like explaining it any more, so started answering to James as well.

I've hated my real name, Adam, all my life. It's only in the last 2 years have I found a way to make it a hell of a lot more funny, interesting and original In some people's eyes it's controversial - I like that. Basically for those who don't know me from Facebook, I'm now called Sadam.

There was a time, about 7 years ago, when I was VERY VERY close to legally changing my name to Turi, seriously.

Sort of like Sly Stallone who named all his kids names beginning with "S" (Sophia/Sisteen, Sage, don't know the others). Anyway, I named my two daughters with the same middle name (and my confirmation name since I don't really have a legal middle name) which is Marie. smile

I think Ryan is a nice name btw. It's funny how some think a name is really bad while others think it's great. To each his own.
