As the title says. Who's your favourite among the various caporegime?
And I mean among both Michael' and Vito's men.

I also included Vincent in the choices because he was a sort of "caporegime" for Michael, during the brief period of his apprentice.

Mi pick is Clemenza. I have a "sentimental weakness" for lil ol' Clemenza. grin

Al Neri. His facial expression when Michael hugs Fredo at Mama's funeral is breathtaking. Just one reason he's my favorite.... wink

Vincent was really just an "Apprentince", but anyway, I picked Clemenza, the man who helped Vito become what he became.

Hey, how's it going?

Peter Clemenza, he's been there since the begining...He helpt vito build his empire from the ground into the most powerful family in the country....I just don't see Al neri having that kind of strength, now a new Luca Brasi, I see that

Al Neri and Clemenza.
probably Neri just edges it out for me. He was royal and truthful all the way.
Clemenza was more wildish but still after all these years stayed royal, unlike Tessio.

I actually forgot to put Frankie Pentangeli among the choices. He wasn't a caporegime during Vito's "reign", but could he be considered one of Michael's caporegime?

My favourite Caporegime is Clemenza.

He was twice in suspicion to have betrayed the Corleones Family if you remember, but he was always faithful altough he decided to build his own family after absorption of Michael.

So I say Clemenza!

Add me on to the Clemenza train.

He's easily more likeable than any of the others. Look at the scene where he's teaching Mike to drop the gun after shooting Sollozzo; there's real affection there (on Clemenza's part towards Michael).

Clemenza is something of a comical escape. The scene in flashback where he and Vito steal the carpet is hilarious, as is the (deleted) scene in which he sits down and eats an entire meal while Paulie waits in the car.

And remember, it was Clemenza whom Vito trusted to accompany Michael back from Sicily (in "The Sicilian").

Clemenza for me too. Even the younger version. The scene of Clem and Vito stealing the carpet is one of the funniest scenes in the trilogy, and it's my daughter's favorite. Tessio was a traitor, and the other 3 just weren't prominent enough to hold my interest.

Clemena for all the reasons quoted above, plus he's really the character we get to know best, PLUS he has the best line in the trilogy:

Leave the gun, take the cannolis.

Think about it....whenn GF I starts the Corleone family is by far the most powerful and successful family, and it doesn't become that way by just one person....Don Vito Corleone was without a doubt a hug reason the family became the way it became but you have to people under you that have their own talents and that are very good at what they do.....The boss is they guy that keeps everyone in line and makes the decisions....but the Capos play a huge role in building the empire so all in all I think considering clemenza being there since the begining says volumes about his talents and role in building the empire..
