As for President Obama's jeans the other night, I enjoyed the view. I certainly found nothing wrong with them.

TIS, I heard clips from his speech, and it was very good. He also was in NJ today to campaign for Governor Corzine. So many incumbents are being blamed for their state's weakened economy, but the truth is, they were stuck with so many unfunded mandates in the past that it was impossible for them to balance their budgets.

I could care less what O wore when he threw that ball or who's ass he looked at. I care what he's gonna do about how our country is going in the crapper.

1. Bush got into Ivy league schools cause he was a legacy. Obama did it on his own. Furthermore Bush had a totally undistinguished record at school.
2. Obama can speak in complete sentences, Bush cannot.
3. Obama is actually doing his job, and ha not handed it over to his vice president.
4. In case you missed it they are making fun of him on SNL.
5. Obama was a community organizer, and Bush was a drunk who was handed a baseball team which ripped off the taxpayers and which he then old for a profit (after he traded Sammy Sosa). Bush was also AWOL in the National Guard (which he got into through Daddy's pull when he should have been in Vietnam).
6. Obama has written (without a ghost writer) two best selling books. It is unclear whether Bush can write at all.
7. Bush took a surplus and turned it into a deficit.
8. Bush did not keep the country safe. 9/11 happened on his watch and he had been clearly warned about it.
9. Bush took us into Iraq based on lies, and we are still stuck there.
10. Because of his brilliant deregulation plans (which go back to another moron, Ronald Reagan) the economy melted down in the fall of 2008.
11. Bush appointed John Roberts to the Supreme Court. Roberts committed perjury in the confirmation hearings when he denied he wa an activist judge. He is an activist reactionary. Also he does not know how to administer an oath (or perhaps he did that on purpose).

Damn right you better bow down to Obama's intellect.

I have to agree. It's only been six months since the man was sworn in. If you're willing to call him a failure without even giving him a chance, then I do believe that race could be a motivating factor.

I think many will understand (and agree) when I say I absolutely hate it when people play the "race" card when everyone know race has nothing to do with it (i.e. OJ, and now some with MJ death)BUT I tend to agree too that many don't or won't admit it but I do think that is the case for some.

My daughter has a couple good friends who all during the campaign and still send anti Obama stuff all the time. You know the doom & gloom e-mail. This goes far beyond preferring/voting for one candidate to another and really does make me wonder if it isn't race. Look at the idiot who took the issue of Obama's birth (citizen or not) to court. I am betting that's a first. Why IS this guy so adamant at beating a dead horse?

She crossed the line with the remarks about the 9/11 widows. Limbaugh crossed it when he accused Michael J. Fox of faking his symptoms on Capitol Hill.

They're both vile and evil. The world would be a much better place if Coulter lost the ability to speak and an overdose of painkillers left Limbaugh a drooling idiot (who could tell the difference?).

Hannity is just a spoiled Long Island kid (Garden City??), who, like many conservative legacies (Bush, anyone?), had everything handed to him on a silver platter.

I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but it seems to fit with what we are talking about. This Glen Beck is something else. He and the caller give a back and forth with Beck whinning like a baby. I admit I stopped it 3/4 of the way. He's too annoying.

I just again heard the President's speech before the NAACP. Gigantically powerful, inspirational, and fluent. A decade or more from now, there is going to be someone (hopefully more than one) who is a kid now and heard that speech who is going to have been so inspired by it that they will overcome obstacles to reach a height that they otherwise would not have reached.

Actually I happen to think she was right on the money with that remark. And I too hope Obama fails as in failing to get his policies in place. Cause if that happens then this will no longer be the United States of America, it will be the United Socialist States of America.

really though idk if you are right or wrong, but i know when bush was president there was "free speech" zones in dc, and you get arrested if your not in the zone. along with that if i remember right a republican from california wanted a law passed that nobody cant complain about the president. now yes i heard other crap during obama's 6 months (i.e if you bring a laptop with you security might have to take it, and check to make sure nothing illegal is on it like music or movies).

Many of the posts on this Board about the Supreme Court are predicted on the illusion that judges strictly interpret the Constitution and law. Bull. How many of you have ever heard the term "substantive due process" or "original intent"? I'd say a few, if any. Those who drafted and ratified the Bill of Rights intended that its provisions apply only to the acts and actions of the federal government (original intent). You would be hard pressed to cite any conservative Court majority opinions that were not the result of "substantive due process".

Ever since Dred Scott v. Sanford in 1857, the Court has been using "substantive due process" and eschewed "original intent" as inputs to its rulings regardless of the ideology of its justices.
