I did a search to see If a thread about this show had already been done. Couldn't find anything.

After my stint in prison I started watching this show again as I was a fan ages ago. It's a great show. Over the top, But a great show with absolute amazing acting from the cast. I reckon this show is Underrated.

I was having a giggle though with some of it and I was thinking, No wonder I copped so many Rape jokes etc on here. If you guys were basing your views on prison from this show, then I'm not surprised I copped so many little shots at me. (All in good fun I know).

I think I chucked it on to see If I could relate to it at all and of course I related to the hopelessness and some of the "Neutral" Characters. They got the Racism spot on. Prison is exactly like that when you get inside. Stick to your own etc.

The one thing though was towards the end of the series, It was death after death. Even Guns being smuggled in by corrupt C.O's.

A bit over the top, But I still must say again, the acting is top notch in this show. I read somewhere it was HBO's first TV series.

Any Fans?

I loved this show and it was my favorite on TV until The Sopranos started. I own all 6 seasons on DVD and watched them all back-to-back about a year or so ago. I miss it as I felt the show still could have gone on.

And yes, we used to have a thread on here I believe but it was probably so long ago it got deleted.

Yeah, I didn't feel it had an ending at all. It was kinda like they had another series planned, But didn't go ahead with it.

Like what ever happens to Tobias, Miguel Ryan etc?

I watched every episode in about a week. Right in your face Television.

Great show! I started watching it in the third season.

HBO recently began airing repeats of the show from the first season. I finally watched the first one and am in the process of watching the second one.

I knew that Edie Falco was on the show, but I didn't know until seeing the first season that Skip Sudduth aka John " Sully" Sullivan from the show Third Watch ( which btw was another excellent show ) was prison guard Lenny Burrano on OZ.

Don Cardi cool

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

Actually, Whisper, it got raves from critics here in the US. But it's probably too brutal for a lot of viewers.

Yeah, He's actually working for the Mob. If you continue to watch it, you'll see some great story lines evolve.

Ahh Ok. Wasn't sure how it went In The states.

I admit It can be brutal. But After all,It is a show about Prison. Emerald City is a great design by the way.
