With Geary in Fredo's Brothel
It is a given that the Corleone's are technically "bad guys," in the eyes of the law, but the purpose of this poll is to find out which Corleone enemies are the mosty villanous. I have
unilaterally selected some from each movie. The criteria I have tried to use is the seriousness of the threat and the things said to a Corleone family member. An example: In GF I Tattaglia was a villian, but he never said anything too terrible, and it turned out he was just " a pimp," so he did not make the cut. If I left someone out who should be on the lest, post away.

Roth.

Sollozzo just wanted to have his narcotics, and if Don Corleone stood in the way... bad for him.

Fredo didn't know they were gonna assasinate Mike.

Senator Geary hated Michael, but he merely wanted to tease them.

It never was clear to me who the Lucchese guy was, what he did, what he had against the Corleone. If they just told he was a young button of Don Ciccio in the old days, then that would be fine. Stupid explanation, but then he at least has a background.

Roth. He was by far the most intelligent, clever--and dangerous.

I voted for Hyman Roth. He was the most intelligent enemy the Corleone Family ever had.

Sollozzo set in motion all of the events that would lead to an all out war among the New York families which would have serious repucussions for all, especially the Corleones. It led to Michael's life-changing decision to go with his father. Solozzo sought to get the families in the narcotics business, which Vito knew was a bad move. Sollozzo tried to kill Vito, and was willing to go into a hospital to finish the job.

Mostly true, but Sollozzo didn't get the job done, and didn't live very long because of it. Roth was the most smart and dangerous enemy to Michael. IMO.

Smartest is between Barzini and Roth.
Both played it out beautifully, but I think Barzini had more muscle than Roth. He could have out numbered hit with Buttons and plus Roth wasn't liked by the government.
Barzini had politicians in his pockets like Vito.

Roth was running away in the end, he didn't seem to be smart when it came to legal issues.
If Barzini lasted the 'steps' killing, he could have outfought Michael and the 5 families were all allies to him in order to prevent a long war.

BARZINI! IS! THE! VILLANEOUS!
