Yes, Vito was a combination. Like Joe Profaci, he was the biggest importer of olive oil in the US. Like Joe Bonanno, he intended for his son to succeed him, and the family was betrayed by one of his top lieutenants. Like Carlo Gambino, he was the biggest Mafia Don in America, but led a very quiet, retiring life and was never arrested (ok, Gambino was arrested twice but they were minor offenses). Like Salvatore Maranzano, he was the victor in a defining Mob war in the Thirties. But, IMO, he most resembled Costello.

Yes, Vito alway reminded me Costello, even down to the scratchy voice
He - (Simón Bolívar) - was shaken by the overwhelming revelation that the headlong race between his misfortunes and his dreams was at that moment reaching the finishing line. The rest was darkness. "Damn it," He sighed. "How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!" So what’s the labyrinth? That’s the mystery isn’t it? Is the labyrinth living or dying? Which is he trying to escape - the world, or, the end of it?

This may be a discussion for another board, but speaking of Bonano... has anyone here ever seen the film "The Youngest Godfather"??? I happened to pick this up a few years ago (on accident) and was actually quite pleased with it (aside from the abrupt ending and horrible acting).
