My coworker was telling me that the appearance in NY would be his last? So he was disappointed he wouldn't get to see him pitch at the games he's going to in Houston, but we agreed it was nice he got to finish up at home instead of on the road. I watched the clip today of Pettitte and Jeter meeting him on the mound - so emotional! Sometimes there IS crying in baseball.

He's supposed to play center in today's (Saturday) game. And then come in to pitch in the 8th or 9th inning.

The Yanks had another outfielder/pitcher back some years ago. His name ..... Babe Ruth. shhh

I shed a tear also...these guys use to be hero's now they're bums.

Gi, I hope your friend gets to see him. Like I said, I never had the opportunity. However, I was able to score one of the special commemorative shirts at Modell's, one for me, the hubby and picked one up for my brother. The shirts had been sold out, even on the store website, but the guy showed me where they had some stashed in the back.
