Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!! \:p I am so glad. I knew there's at least one more good storyline left in the Bourne series. I'm definitely "in" to see it. \:\) Thanks RR! I wouldn't have expected any kind of announcement so soon after the last one. I'm totally jazzed.

Welcome!

To be honest, I was surprised. I know, "RR, you naive about $$$", but I honestly thought ULTIMATUM's ending was a perfect full circle back to IDENTITY.

Damon should be told to "never say never". \:\)

RR, your in charge of posting updates, storylines, trailers and the like, ok? \:D \:p

To anyone who hasn't yet, now is a good time to rent all three of the Bourne series and get prepped for the next one.

Thanks to your enthusiasm for the films TIS (as well as my brothers telling me to watch them) I gave Identity a re-watch, and then watched Supremacy for the first time. I think I mentioned before that these type of James Bond-like action movies are not my thing and the first two movies didn't quite strike me the way they have for you obviously.

However, after seeing the first two I want to see Ultimatum to see what happens next and I'm sure I'll see Redundancy (or whatever it's actually called \:D )

I really do enjoy the storyline so I'm going to have to rent Ultimatum soon.

Blibble (all this time I was reading Bibble) \:\/ Although I've seen a few, I too have never been a big James Bond fan, and I can see I guess where they'd be compared, but the Bourne series is different for some reason IMHO.

Holy Sh*t I never saw this coming, as I thought The Bourne Ultimatum had the perfect ending to the series. But I will gladly see the 4th one as each movie in the series has gotten better the the previous one IMHO. And that rarely happens.

I'll hate to tell my brother about this as he's the one who told me that Matt Damon was threw with the Bourne series.

Heck it was my brother who got me to be a fan of the trilogy.

The Bourne movies are awesome. Ya I'm surprised they are making a 4th movie. Great fight scenes & car chases.

Well, they've already adapted the three books written by Robert Ludlum, so now all that's left are the two written after his death.

Frankly, I don't think he'd be very happy. The Bourne Ultimatum was written in 1990, completing the series that Ludlum started way back in 1980. Erik Van Lustbader picked up the series is 2004, a few years after Ludlum's death, and after the movie franchise became such a money machine. It almost reminds me of Winegardner taking over for Puzo. Ugh.

BUT, with the great Matt Damon on board, I'm sure to see it.

No offense, but Ludlum's ULTIMATUM sucked. While I enjoyed IDENTITY and SUPREMACY novels for what they were, ULTIMATUM was itself...like Bourne 4...a simple (lame) cash-in. Then again, after the changes done to the adaptations of those two earlier books, no wonder the ULTIMATUM movie shares only the title with its book.

All I want to know is, what would BOURNE 4 even be about? Would it explain why Bourne joined the program in the first place?*

One thought....what if for once, instead of being chased, Bourne is the predator?

*=And keep or borrow the book's background?

Wouldn't they use THE BOURNE LEGACY or THE BOURNE BETRAYAL, by Van Lustbader as the basis?

Who knows...though LEGACY, wouldn't they have to wait many years for Damon to make that whole plot gimmick work?

Yes, they would. Bourne is in his 60's in the two Lustbader novels, which is another reason I hope they use an independent screenplay.
