Can't remember if it was Arthur Clarke or Ray Bradbury, but one of them wrote this awesome short story about how the Star of Bethlehem was caused by a populated planet blowing up. Ironic that millions of people died and the cataclysm was the guiding light to a special soul being born millions and millions of miles away.

Who knows the absolutely horribly depressing "Shoe" song?? It's about the little kid who needs to buy new shoes for his mother because she's dying and has to have new shoes for heaven. It's one of those songs that you really mostly hate, yet know very well and actually listen to when it comes on the radio.

It is sad and depressing but I love the song. When I hear it on the radio I turn the volume up and get a good cry. They made a movie about it.
