Well fuck me silly and call me Harry: why limit this to TV?

My favourite sitcom is definitely The Godfather.

I was in a meeting the other day and there is a doctor at my job with the last name of Schindler and he made a comment about his list, I started laughing but no one else got it \:\/

Anyway back on topic kevin James as Doug in King of Queens as is Jerry stiller as Arthur its not really been to popular in the UK but i think its great

Arthur Spooner: Sure, Douglas, you're white hot. You rode the frog to the top, but lady luck can be a fickle whore.

Doug Heffernan: Why fart and waste it, when you can burp and taste it?

How about Jack Tripper from Three's Company? I know this show has been so overplayed (at least here), but you can't deny John Ritter's talent for physical comedy.

One episode in particular, where he mixed some cold medication with alcohol. Anyone remember? His facial expressions and energy were pricless.

My favorite sitcom characters tend to be the second fiddles, many of whom have bben named, such as Ed Norton from "The Honeymooners, Kramer from "Seinfeld", Jim Ignitowski from "Taxi" and Norm and Cliff from "Cheers." but my all-time favorite hasn't been mentioned yet....Barney Fife from the Andy Griffith Show.

I also have to put Archie Bunker high on the list too.

So technically a show like The Sopranos is considered a sitcom.

Huh??

The Sopranos is not a sitcom! Where'd you get that definition from? "A sitcom = a TV show"?? It's primarily a drama, not primarily a comedy. Despite the fact that most dramas introduce comedic elements into the story, that doesn't make them comedies. These are sitcoms.

For those who don't think Seinfeld is funny, I thought the same thing after watching only one or two episodes. I really didn't watch the show regularily for the first couple years. Then, I started watching the repeats, got to know wthe characters, and loved it. Now it's one of my favorites. \:\) They call it the show about "nothing" which is true, but it had "something" that made it hilarious and kept fans tuned in every week. I loved all the characters except George and his dad. Dont' ask me why, but they were so unlikeable and/or irritating. I know, I'm all alone with that opinion. \:\/

I still have my personal favorites, but yea, I do wish the Sopranos was still on. As far as House, I've never seen it, but someone here has posted before that it is a good show. I'm guessing it's opposite of one of my regular shows, but I'll try to check it out sometime.

Oh, I forgot about WKRP! That was a very funny show.

My two favorite episodes (sorry, can't do just one):

When Mr. Carlson threw the Thanksgiving turkeys out of the helicopter.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=XzRmwNwKVw8

AND

When Johnny Fever took a test, taking a drink and then checking his reflexes. The more he drank, the better his reflexes got!

I don't have to search to see whether "TV show" means the same thing as "sitcom" \:p Of course sitcoms are (usually now) TV shows, but, that doesn't mean all TV shows are sitcoms! \:p

And if SC wants to ban me, then he can go right ahead!!

No, wait....
