While watching GF this weekend, Mrs. Woltz said that she thought that Salvatore Corsitto did a poor job as Bonasera, at least in the mortuary scene. I don't necessarily agree, but it did get me to thinking...

We pretty much all agree that the casting/acting is one of the strengths of GFI and II, and one of the weaknesses of GFIII.

But are there any actors in GFI and GFII that you feel aren't pulling their weight?

You'll be hard pressed to find bad acting in Parts I and II.

Tom has some bad acting in the deleted scene when he comes home after meeting with Sollozzo.

He says something like, "If I ever go before Supreme Court I'll never do better than I did with that Turk tonight hahaha." Glad it wasn't in the original.

Thats why it was cut.

I cannot think of a single bad role in either movie....perhaps
Fanucci overplayed his role a bit, but not worth complainting about it.

I thought Frankie's animated waving of arms at the Senate hearing was unnecessary, but not really bad acting. Basically, I agree that the I&II acting jobs were pretty much near perfect.

The horse that played Khartoum could have been better.

I blame FFC for not giving Khartoum the proper direction.

The dead hooker in Fredo's whorehouse was mis-cast.

Agreed. It was cheesy. I think they filmed it just because it was in the book.

Matter of fact I think most of the deleted scenes are kind of cheesy, and take away from the tone of the films. Maybe it's because they're new to me, but I don't see them meshing well with the original film.

There isn't a bad performance in either film. Even Alex Rocco, whose other performances make Sofia's look like Oscar material, was fine.

Right on the money, TB.

Rocco, who hasn't had a single memorable performance since, was terrific as Moe. Whether it was beginner's luck or he was just born to play the part, we're all the luckier for it.

Al Neri's lines in GF1 were not that convincing.

I thought that scene was sort of weak also.

I was never thrilled with Neri's baby faced looks in the first two.

In a van down by the river!
When Moe Green gets shot in the eye and red water comes out always bothered me, but that doesn't have to do with the acting.

Long as I remember The rain been coming down.
Clouds of Mystery pouring Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, Trying to find the sun;
And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.

Yeah that scene really shits me.The way Moe Green, nice and slowly lays his head back down..geez i hate that.

The hero and the coward both feel the same thing, but the hero uses his fear, projects it onto his opponent, while the coward runs. It's the same thing, fear, but it's what you do with it that matters. Cus D'Amato

I thought that scene had a hint of Alfred Hitchcock to it.

I thought it had a hint of laziness to it.

Yeah, me too! He was kinda like "Goodnight, I'm sleepy"

But I think the scene in GF2 when Mike and Kay are dancing is knida weak. Kay's voice and dialouge just doesn't seem authentic. I wouldn't say corny, but... \:\/

Tom has some bad acting in the deleted scene when he comes home after meeting with Sollozzo.

He says something like, "If I ever go before Supreme Court I'll never do better than I did with that Turk tonight hahaha." Glad it wasn't in the original.

I thought that was in the finished movie. After that, he hugs his wife, his hat falls, and he says, "give me a minute, will'ya?"
