i have a couple of questions for you guys. what is everyones opinions on the following?

1) If Tony woulda been whacked, who would have taken over?? Was Paulie really going to take over? Or was NY simply going to branch out into Jersey and use what was left of the Jersey crews to run NJ?? Thats what Phil's plan was right?

2) Who took over for Phil? Was it Butchie? He didnt seem like the 'boss' type. Or do you guys think Carmine got the gig?

3) When a 3rd party 'guarantees' security for a meeting of two rival families....if the security fails, or if someone gets killed...does the 3rd party who 'guarantees' security become a target for elimination? i'm thinking yes....cause i remember in the Godfather a 'negotiator' is used and faces being hurt or harmed if anything goes wrong at a meeting of rival families.

4) Is there some general fund each family keeps to take care of widows/paraplegics affected families?? Or does this just come out of the bosses pocket every month??

Just some things I've been left wondering.

Fredo, you're my older brother and I love you, but dont ever take sides with anyone against the family again

1) That was Phil's plan.

2)I think that Little Carmine wound up as Boss of New York. He played that one beautifully. ;\)

3)The Bocchiccio's storyline in the GF Novel pretty much sims up how it works.

4) Of course. It's called the M.A.F.I.A.W.C.F. :

the Mothers And Fathers Italian Association Widow's and Children's Fund!

Local 499

Don Cardi cool

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

I don't think that Bocchiccio thing applied inthis case. I think Gerge just arranged security. That's why Tony and Paulie were frisked before the meeting.

The widow of a dead wiseguy is just that: a widow. She stands just as much a chance of being left out in the cold as being inside.

1. Paulie would have taken over. Silvio is the Consigliere but he is in coma. Patsy who has new found power being Tony's brother in law but he just became Capo. Carlo flipped, Bobby is dead, and Larry Barese is still under house arrest.

2. Probably Butchie. Though Albie was the Consigliere, Butch seems to weild more power in the Lupertazzi Family. Carmine is a Capo that operates out of Miami, and has turned down the position before, he wouldn't takeover.

3. Don Cardi took the words out of my mouth...

4. Not exactly sure about the whole widow thing.

If Carmine is just a capo why is he always at these meetings?

I imagine that because he's close to both Tony and the NY family he was trusted enough by BOTH sides to help make the peace. I think he just may have ended up the boss of the Lupertazzis after all. We'll never know.

If you're looking for lifetime medical or widow's benefits you'll have to get a civil service job.

I was mixed on Carmine's role until I watched "MIA" a 2nd and 3rd time.

After the sit-down meeting at which the peace agreement is made, Tony and Paulie turn around and walk toward T's Escalade.

Butchie and Albie get out of their chairs and walk offscreen to the right of the camera.

Carmine gets up, walks around the left side of the table, begins to follow the path of Tony and Paulie out of the garage. He goes three or four steps -- then turns sharply right and follows Butch and Albie out of the scene.

Carmine takes over New York.
