Upon wathing GF1 with the commentary by Coppola, he mentions that the building in Chinatown used for the Genco Oil Company still has that sign on it to this day?

Anyone know which street in Chinatown this is on? I might be goin to NY in a couple of weeks, and would love to see it.

Thanks!

The building used for the store front was #128 Mott Street (near Hester Street). It was also the location for where Vito was gunned down.

The sign for "Genco Pura" has long been gone, and the storefront has been remodelled. It'd be hard to recognize today.

Here's a current picture of that address:

My Chinese might be a littly rusty, but I think the sign over the door says, "Formerly Genco's" wink

Wow, I was just in Chinatown in August and never knew it was at 128 Mott Steet. I think I might go in town tommorow just to take a look. Thanks smile for that info.
