I liked the episode. It was vintage Sopranos with Junior telling his jokes. Anybody notice that Tony is growing tomatos? Reminded me of Vito in GF1. I also thought that Paulie was finished if he went with Tony on the boat, a few times Tony looked away and saw a knife and an axe. I also thought that Junior died at the end of the show from the beating the other inmate gave him. It also looks like Tony is developing a gambling habit.

After 2 very good episodes to kick off the new season, last night's was pretty much what I expected, a "filler" episode.

I thought it was very funny, if nothing else, and I always love watching Florida get lampooned (Don't panic Floridians, I'm a condo owner in Delray Beach).

Anyway, Doc going was pretty much expected. It proves that Phil is back on his game, much the same way that it took Tony awhile to be decisive after he was hospitalized.

Tony and Paulie ? I enjoyed it and whatever happens, happens. That's just how it is. These guys are forever contemplating killing one another. So to me, it was nothing really new.

Tony with a possible gambling problem ? Chase must be running out of material because I don't know what to think of this. Is he making a Gotti like comparison ? John was known to go a little haywhire at the track and with the local bookmakers.

Finally, Larry Boy. Read my posts - I KNEW it. Hey, I'm never right about anything so let me have my moment.
I mean how many dinners was this guy going to attend while under house arrest ? So far, he hasn't done anything to hurt Tony, but that can change in an instant. In many ways, the Feds are like wiseguys, once they get their claws in you, that's it.

Only 6 more episodes. Time will tell.

It wasn't just you pizzaboy, I called it too! \:p It was a good episode overall, one of the funniest in years! What I liked the most about it was the fact that Junior had significant screen time, he truley is a great character. I knew Doc was gonna get killed after Gerry was whacked, though I didn't expect Doc to get the ole "Moe Green Special".

I think that Tony was testing Paulie to see if he'd crack...had Paulie admitted to telling the joke to Johhny, Tony would have killed him.

JUNIOR- The boss of a mental institution is so hilarious!

Anyone else think that could possibly be the last we see of Junior? I feel like that was a fitting end to his character. No need to have him die. That last image of him rotting away deperessed in a mental institution was enough.

Could be. But one of hte great things about this series is the speculation and misdirection that Chase uses. Also, there are so many characters with their own storyline that we can never be sure which one will dominate.

Somehow I don't think that we've seen the last of Junior. We'll at least I hope not.

Hopefully that is not the last time we see Junior he is my favorite character. This was my favorite episode of the new season with all the screen time Junior and Paulie were getting. I was real nervous about what Tony might do. This new stroyline with the gambling reminds me when johnny boy told tony in season 3 episode 3 to never gamble so maybe it is all going to tie together.

Junior holding a pussy cat in his lap was very intentional.

I think this is the last we see of him -- although I think A.J. takes another shot at taking him out.

A couple "Godfather" homages: the shot to the eye which kills Doc (Moe Greene) and the Family Boss going to a sunny vacation location to visit a trusted, wheelchair-bound old family friend (Don Tomassino) and asking his counsel and advice.

The Miami setting, and the perky wife coming out to serve sandwiches to the Old Boss and the Young Boss while they talked business, was a little reminiscent of the Hyman Roth scenes.

There have been more homages to The Godfather franchise this year than in any other.

Why do I have the feeling that since a few seasons ago, Paulie has been leaking info to something(New York/FBI)?

I thought so too (and posted this earlier). My first thought about this was that it was a crude reference to the fact that Junior ate pussy in a show from a few seasons ago ( ).

Think about it.... this episode was a lot about reminiscing of old times and Junior was now thinking about his "dating" women and now he's living in a nursing home subject to peeing in his pants. Its a fitting end to his character (as someone else pointed out here).

Another great episode. Finally an episode where Paulie dominates. I can't believe he's afraid of being approached by the feds. Isn't it in Tony Sirico's contract that his character doesn't become a rat? Great performance from Junior too. That character is still going strong, and Chianese plays him perfectly.

Exactly. As I've said in the past, he's just a petty thief at heart. Two episodes that always come to mind with Paulie :

The one where they were looking for AJ'a teacher's car, when Paulie loses his mind in the coffee shop screaming " We invented this stuff" and then robbing the coffee pot from the store. The other is when he takes his mom and her friend out to eat, and then makes his mom's friend pay her own way and when she goes to take the rolls home, he gives her this mean look and says : Those are ma's rolls!"

He f**king kills me!

Im glad Paulie survived this week, he adds so much comedy to the show. I thought the funniest thing he did (as sick as it is) was suffocating his Ma's (Aunt rather) friend after he was caught sneeking around her room for cash .

Anyone think Larry Boy will soon be taking a dirt nap? I know he lied to the FBI, but still...he is talking to them.

He robbed the restaurant and the waiter, and at the same time robbed Christopher too because Christopher was the one who paid the bill!

Then there's the shoelace rant he went on.

And in Italy, talking to a whore, and saying how they could be related.

Paulie is the funniest character in the show without a doubt!

Paulie, out to dinner in Italy, for me, is quite possibly the funniest scene in the show's history. I love when he's asking for "macaroni and gravy" and the waitstaff is talking about him in Italian right in front of his face. "And I thought the French had no class" or something to that effect. Hysterical.

Paulie is a hoot. I liked the episode where he beat up the guy because the guy's mother and her friends were excluding Paulie's mom. Uncle Junior is outstanding as always and I was glad he was given screentime for this episode was vintage as I stated before, the laughs kept coming. The end scene with him and the cat gave one something to think about. I am still wondering if Junior is putting on an act and has us all fooled. Junior also looked pitifull sitting in the chair with no teeth and a broken arm. Who was the Asian guy in the asylum? He looked familiar.

I thought the hit on Doc was reminiscent of the hit on Paul Castellano. Also, I think that we've seen the end of Junior. And, what do you think was the deal about one of the assassins dropping the gun after the hit?

So many references to the trilogy this season.

I just rewatched the season premiere and Janice's obsession with keeping the baby away from the water reminded me of Fredo.

Connie: "Sometimes I think of poor Fredo, drowned."

Maybe Chase is foreshadowing someone drowning.
