I have read some articles that would indicate that EA Games plans to make a game based version of each Godfather film. I liked the first Godfather game, though not many bosses get hits from their capos or be a capo and NOT run a crew. So has anyone heard anything that "The Godfather Part II: The Game" is in production? I could imagine the player controlling young Vito Andolini as he grows to become Don Vito Corleone. Other than that....I got nothing.

I had an idea that we see our former character riddled with bullets. Clemenza is engranged but is then killed by two Tatalligia capos. We play as Frankie Five Angels but work at Fredo's right hand side before we are sent to NY.

Not a bad idea, maybe the game will cover the years that led to Godfather III (god knows Winegardner couldn't).

Yea maybe, but I think GF fans would want to see a film about those events.

If they make another most likely it'll be much like the first game. My idea is this you create your own character like in the first game and it starts right where the last game left off. Michael has your old character whacked and has Clemenza take his place. You work for Clemenza up until his heart attack that wasn't a heart attack thats when you move out west get made and eventually become Michaels right hand or if you fucked up one to many times you'll join Roth and Fredo and get whacked at the end so then that way it seems more like your choices will effect you later on. I also think it would be cool if this time around you can choose what kind of racket to place in the fronts you take over just an idea tho.

I wouldn't doubt it if they will add in a feature to transfer your old save, so that you can use the same character from the first game.

I thought the characters were quite good in the original. Given how well The Godfather has sold for the Wii, I have no doubts they have a sequel in the works. But the problem is how to make it more original and fit with the first game...or unless they are planning a different thing. Maybe a duality...you could either be on the side of Roth or the Corleones? That would be interesting...

Maybe you could be the one to open the drapes! \:p

Who'd want to play as Fredo though?

I know I'm going to take a lot of heat for this, but I've said it before, if you were to take out the Corleone name and this game would have been marketed as "Mafia 2" it would have flopped, very quickly. The developers used The Godfather name to cut corners..

Yeah I'll still buy the 2nd one if they make it lol, but I probably won't be impressed.

I disagree, at least with the Wii version. It is my favorite Wii game to date, and clearly has plenty of motion sensing integration. The size and scope of the city really gives GTA a run for its money, and personally, I think with some changes to the atmosphere, really could bring the real-time city environment to a new level. I must be missing the areas where they "cut corners."

Then again, the EA development house has its own Wii-centric team, which is independent from the regular developers at EA, so I can't speak for the other versions.

Do you know what they really should put in Part II, after you become the Don there should be bigger things now for you like you can buy other casisons.
It would be just so GREAT if...
Imagine this with me, You are THE DON of the Corleone family, you're walking down the streets, buying oranges , suddenly 4 door car stops and three gangsters get out with a chicago typewriter and start shooting at you! AN ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT! \:o
I mean come on it would so awesome if EA does that!

yeah if they make the godfather part 2 it would be interesting how they tackle the problem of different locations and the freedom like Godfather 1 game.

I don't think playing as the Don from the beginning would be that interesting because if you are already the Don what do you have to work towards? Also if you are already the Don you can't expect him to go around shooting up New York like in the first one. Now with them putting The Godfather name on it I think that they will most likely continue telling the story of your characters life within the Corleone family. But I liked someones idea about choosing between The Corleones and Roth. Hopefully tho Geraci doesn't make an appearance lmao.

I feel like because it's EA it will be nothing as good as GTA4. They just don't have the budget.

EA has an astronomical budget, and are arguably one of the top gaming companies in the world right now (they are currently the world's largest third-party developer), with plenty of money to toss around (see the exclusive deal they signed with the NFL).

Meanwhile, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company behind Rockstar (i.e., the devs of GTA), and in deep financial troubles.

Unless I'm not understanding your comment...

Okay I'm wrong but it seemed like it was rushed and cartoonish, I guess they just didn't approach it the right way. When GTA4 looks like it won't be replaced for years, really I want a 20-40s GTA.

GTAs too far a head, EAs got to do a lot of work if it wants to catch up to GTA. I still think GTA4 will be a better game IMO.

Well if you remember the movie Michael left New York and went to Nevada. So I think that's why you become Don of New York in the game. Michael left you the family business in New York.
My theory is this. Godfather Part II comes out just like the first game there is and opening story line. It starts out with the Michael meeting Carlos at the house he gets him to tell the truth then you Fat Clemenza get in the car pretend you are are putting Carlos on a plane to Nevada and kill him in the car. Michael flies to Nevada then after Clemenza dies of a heart attack Michael calls on his best man in New York for help with his Hyman Roth deal. I really think they can do a lot with the story line and visit a lot of new places. You can help Michael buy out, Casino, fly to Cuba, and of course be the one to wack Fredo.
This is just one way to take the story line the other could a new character. Let's say your a childhood fiend who works for Vito Corleone in New York. Which will include the Backhand story line from the movie and the deleted scenes when he went back to Sicily and killed off all the men involved with killing his entire family.
Mr personally I'm greedy I want it just like the movie. Both story lines at the same time.

2 storylines in 1 game with open end gameplay could make a great game. Ofcourse with different maps. The question is that is EA up to it.

The first game sold very well, so EA will most likely do it since they've hinted before they intend on making 3 Godfather games.

But EA is known to mess games up, thats what i'm worried about. I dont want to play a bad Godfather game, that would be a disgrace to the godfather franchise.

I would like them to fix that little thing about having to quit the game to change your clothes. I would like it to be as easy as the last GTA to was to change clothes. Just walk into a clothing shop and buy what you want. Then once you buy it you should be able to go to your save house and change. I mean if you can buy firearms on the street how hard would it be to buy clothes in a shop or even have a barber shop.

On the Xbox 360 version you can buy clothes at the tailor and get your hair cut at the barber.
