Some fellas, I hear the call out "Elvis never died! Presley is till alive!" and as far as Im concerned Presley is well down six feet under in his king jumpsuit and the disco aint never comin back.
But, the ather day I wasa thinkin about Roy DeMeos death. Over the facts, wat we got? A human like mass shot to a pulp with the head drilled by a bulletholes? Is that Roy DeMeo or a staged death that lead his runaway to safety? Is Roy still alive?

From everything I've read about the subject, Roy's son Albert identified the body under intense scrutiny from the FBI because Roy had often spoke of staging his own death.
The govenment wanted to be sure he was really dead because they held him accountable in close to 200 murders and actually went as far as classifying him as a serial killer.
It's a pretty safe bet that he's dead.

Who knows ? I'll say this, if it was a hit, I'm sure the govenment would do everything in their power to cover it up, in order to protect the image of the witness protection program.
I'm sure you've read it, but MURDER MACHINE really is the definitive source on the DeMeo crew. Jerry Capeci is very rarely wrong on such high profile cases. It's worth reading twice.

"Murder Machine" provided a more intimate and in-depth look at a Mob crew than any other book I'm familiar with. But, IMO, it spent too much time on Dominick Montiglia, Nino Gaggi's connected but never-made nephew, whose life didn't merit all the space Capeci gave him.
Albert DeMeo wrote an excellent book, "For the Sins of My Father," which, while an apologia for his old man, moves along far more briskly. It's here:

Speaking of Gaggi, was that one of the names used for a Don in Goodfellas?

Yeah, I'd agree with that TB. Like the old theory goes, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. Montiglio was a hopeless junkie and if my middle aged memory serves me correctly, Roy DeMeo's kid was a bit touched in the head, himself. However, I think that both accounts brought some truths to light.
Montiglio was the primary source for MURDER MACHINE and I've often wondered if it did, indeed, start out as a run of the mill biography about him, that evolved into a tell all about the DeMeo crew.
If you remember, when the book was published in 92', he actually made the rounds on television, heavily disguised, to promote the book. As you well know, if had had received a writing credit for the book, the "son of sam" law, would have prevented him from profiting. That's not to say that he couldn't have received cash, "under the table", for such appearances.
Who knows ?

You're thinking of "Casino," Olivant. "Rimo Gaggi" was the name of the powerful Don who benefited from Ace's tips and who dispatched Nicky to Vegas to protect the Ace Rothstein franchise.

I don't think so. Nino Gaggi was a capo in the Gambino Family in Brooklyn. I don't think he was ever higher than that in the family. The "Rimo Gaggi" in "Casino" seemingly was a Chicago Don or underboss with a direct pipeline to Vegas. I don't recall reading any Vegas connection for Nino Gaggi.

Why do you type as if your an Italian person speaking English? It's very annoying.
