Sorry if this has been covered, but: Have any of you watched the Godfather III trailer on the GF bonus DVD? It's full of early footage from the original filming! Most of it is footage we either haven't seen, or scenes that are different to how we know them; it's like a trailer to a film we don't know. For example, Vincent spitting before Altobello, telling him "I'm a Corleone!" And Connie saying "With my help you can save the Corleones" sounds a lot cooler than her "DOO IT!". Watch it, it's pretty interesting.
Just make sure you don't watch the trailers to GF1 and 2. Especially 1, it's just a collection of images.

The trailer for GF1 is terrible. I can't believe that this is what was shown back in 1972 to get people to the theaters. It lacks cohesion and gives way too much away. The 2nd and 3rd trailers are much better.

I remember watching the GF trailer on the DVD and assumed that was one of many, hoping that could never have been THE trailer to the film I knew and loved.

No wonder there was such a muted reponse to its launch if that trailer was meant to pre-sell it's release in the cinema!

'The Godfather, Pt.III' trailer was released during the summer 1990. At the time, Francis Coppola kept re-writing the script from day to day, which meant re-shoots as well. By the time the trailer had premiered, the crux of the story had changed. It was pretty much the only trailer released to promote the movie. The studio had put together a trailer based on material already shot, it was changed in editing as well.

well first off let me say that yes the trailer for gf was very dissapointing, but the trailer for gf2 was much much better. i infact enjoyed it. but of course the best one, even if the scenes in it aren't in the movie, is the one for gf3. especially with the intro showing scenes of the first two. aaahhhhhhhhhhh it's just such a good trailer. " two classics, two epics." i can't stop seeing it. smile
